Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
Is the clan tag required? Do we need to spell the username correctly, or just make it very recognizable?

Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
So I take it that the colon (":") is required then.
Lately, I have seen the following being used in game, do any of these work (perhaps something has been updated since this was written?) or are these people just using incorrect syntax:
!r player reason
!reporting player reasonDe Oppresso Liber
I'm the other Randy Shughart (in TG).

BRAAAIIIINNNSSSS!!!
Holy necro, other Randy Shughart!
To add a factual answer, you don't need the colon, you type !reporting followed by their name and the infraction. This sets an audible cue for any admin with BF2CC open, and they come see what the trouble is. Word to the wise for anybody reading - don't abuse it.

Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
I thought this would be the other randy when I saw the date on the first post, this is furthering my idea that they are in fact the same person.

How do you keep finding threads from 2007?

Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
Well, I posted in the appropriate thread... even if it is a bit old, so what. lol I can't help it, I am an organised person.

So, just to confirm, I guess there have been changes to the script since 2007 as far as syntax? I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing when reporting.
I tend to play late night EST in the witching hour, and sometimes overnight. A lot of times there is not an admin on (until I see TMan, and then I really know it's time to go to sleep, lol) but I want to report it just in case any of them are checking CC. Well, and during prime time as well. Some guy a week or two ago was being a real tard and I couldn't find an admin.
Certainly not planning on overusing it, because I don't want to make undue burden on the admins. However, after I have exhausted all attempts to communicate with someone, what else can you do? I would encourage others to do the same: explain the rules to people who may not be aware but after that report rulebreakers, TKers, etc.
Every non-SM knows how hard it can be to get into the server, especially during prime time, there are always many people trying to get in. Therefore it can only raise the quality of play to get rid of some of the idiots. Not talking about people new to the server here, who may just not know any better; again, I always try to explain and get them to see the "TG way" for starters. Patience and speaking to people in the proper way go a long way, but there are always those few who will never see the light...De Oppresso Liber

Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
Randy - typing !Reporting <player> <infraction> will get the attention of the admins if they are on the server or monitoring CC. If you're not sure if one is on, take screenshots of problems if you can, but feel free to post about the incident in the Contact an Admin forum. I promise you we'll look into the issue and address it.

Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
I remember I was reporting someone on the server before, and there were admins on the server...Yet nothing happened.
I expect instant admin action that bans players the moment they look at me the wrong way! WICKENS!

Re: Remember the "Reporting:"
To be clear, do we need to type the player name exactly? Or just close enough that the admin can easily figure out who it is? Because, frankly, some people come up with the damndest things to type into the character name field.
