Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
Imo password nights would be better if there was an admin presence on the server.
This isn't a statement about the admins we already have, I'm greatful for the work they do. But I just feel as though we should appoint a few admins who are regular PR participants during prime time hours.

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
Tonight's game play was rough. I played two and a half rounds in about two hours
..........AT sniped at least 3 times...twice with TOW in an open field at distance
..........Bunnyhoppers avoiding fire at least twice
..........two punishes for accidental TK's
Each time I typed out a message saying ...."please don't do X........go back and read the server rules...and it's password night c'mon !!!"

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
Unfortunately I'd have to agree. Yeah I just went back and watched Quai River and some of the AT sniping on that was a little out of hand. The server was excellent around 11am today. I'm not sure why it goes downhill when password night begins.

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
I was USMC on Qwaii and I must have not witnessed what the Chinese were complaining about during the game. I was one of two Heavy AT kits for the first half of game till we took Estate. I shot alot of rounds across the river into Fishing Village area taking down 3 APCs, 2 Tanks 2 Humvees and the Chopper.
Only 3 Heavy AT shots were targeted on infrantry specifically. And 1 of those missed. These were either in direct support of my SL across the river who was fighting over the Fishing Flag or to take out the sniping shooter aiming at me who was preventing me from getting a clear shot at the tank. The shots I took at infrantry were to dislodge entrenched enemy behind berms/hills who were firing upon my SL.
I can not say for sure what the other HAT guy was doing, but everytime I saw him shoot he was targetting a vehicle.
Quite frankly our squads attacking Fishing and Estate found this to be a great match. Exciting and challenging using good teamwork against commendable resistance from the Chinese. We were hardly dominating and lost both Fishing and Estate repeatedly. We could only retake the flags because we hid RPs and manned/unmanned APCs far behind the fighting. I saw alot of copmplaints about someone on US side gernade spamming and AT sniping, but never wittnessed it myself. In reality we did so well because we kept relaying Rps as they were destroyed and used good flanking tactics.Last edited by Sparkks; 06-18-2007 at 03:01 AM.

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
Hmmm, i was only on for an hour or so tonight, and i too was dissapointed, the same old people were up to the same old tricks, there was HAT and LAT sniping of infantry, and bunnyhopping "off cliffs" (in reality a 1 foot slope.) I just got fed up and logged of, as i had other things to do. I hope this mess of smacktards dont show up for 0.6. Seems harsh, but it also seems my thoughts are matched by an increasing number of people in TG...

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
When closely aiming at people while sniping, their nametags popped up. It surprised me how many players I knew were disobeying the rules. I now understand why Spaarks AT sniped me when I was sniper. Anyway, the game was unfolding to be a great game. I probably reported over five people, which in the end ruined the so called 'great game'. Some things that bothered me were AT sniping, noobtubing, grenade spamming, bunny hopping, and glitched RP points. This was by far, the worst password night I've ever played.

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
yeah.....i was on last nite and there was some tardness, mostly people playing silly. Thisk i was AT sniped only once (on EBOdesert) although i could be wrong. Apparently Mec had 2 HATs on tall buildings covering approaches may have been a stray shot.
I left on Jabal, there were only c 25- 30 on the server and HAT were stopping us getting apc aground.
Round was over before it started.

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
There was an Admin on the TG TS PRM channel from 8:45 - 11:15 pm BST last night.
Is it possible that the PW can be applied earlier for us Eurotrash? 2pm EDT would greatly aid players with families that don't want to hear our VoIP chatter while trying to sleep and have jobs to go on Monday morning..

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
And I accept responsibility for not summoning said admin.
But I stll think PR needs admins who actively play PR, particularly on password nights. Really imo, there is always some kind of shennanagans going on in our server and there is virtualy never anyone wearing an admin tag to scare them off.
I know they removed kill messages form PR for the benefit of realism and that's awesome, but I wish they could at least show who killed you. Im guessing it's not feasible.

There were at least three admins playing during the PW event that I saw.

Re: Password Nights - A dying breed
Ok first of all, you are contradicting yourself here. Either you did witness HAT being used on infantry or you didn't? And you even claim you did as well. Since when is using HAT to snipe a sniper acceptable?
The primary purpose of the HAT is for use against heavily armored vehicles (e.g. tank, APC). These kits / projectiles are considerably more expensive and less available than their LAT counterpart. Players carrying the HAT should focus solely on vehicles.|TG-12th| jmaker
