Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
I own the game, but as I said previously I have no tolerance for crappy programming. I didn't pay 40 bucks for the game, 25 dollars monthly for my internet, and another 1600 bucks for my gaming rig to have to tolerate 20-30 fps and far less in CQB. Since my rig is above the recommended requirements, my connection is fast enough, all I can determine is that the game itself runs like crap on a stick because of poor programming/coding.
Besides, I did that stuff for real, no computer simulation will ever approach reality. So I'll stick with gameplay although it seems PR is trying to phase that out as well.

Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
I was on TG last night during most if not all of Seven Gates and Oilfield. 7 Gates wasn't that bad except for guy attacking the North flank while River fort was still taken (we were PLA). But River Fort was grey to British to PLA a bunch. I had a good SL though and most guys were following orders. Think my SL was Sabre_Tooth.
On Oilfield though i ran my own squad (US). I had no problems at first because i only had a few guys due to the fact i had to start the squad after the battle had started because i went for a smoke during the map load. We were defending Oil Processing for a long time because i knew once we capped it no one would stay. But as i got more guys they werent staying on the squad at the Oil Processing CP. Couple times i told to come back but they didn't. I had about 2 or 3 guys following orders and the rest weren't. I even had one guy in my squad not following orders steal the commander truck from the commander. An angry commander over com told me and i scolded the SM to bring it back to the CO b/c that was what he needed to deploy assets. He did bring it back at least.
After Oilfields map i had to quit. Around 8 ish CDT.
ANother problem im seeing is that people are locking squads at 3 or 4 guys. Which makes guys who dont want to be SL's squad lead. Which leads to guys joining those squads getting a crappy SL and no orders. It just compounds.

Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
I hear you there. I have guns upstairs. There's a car in the driveway. THERE'S SAND IN A SANDBOX. However, I think PR is doing such a great job balencing gameplay and reality.
.607 is really a great change from .5... My reasons...
-Fixed Zoom level for US Army, and put a JAW DROPPING scope on the G3. The G3 is a damn beast now.
- Binocs for alllll the classes. I cant even begin to tell you how much happier that makes me.
- The use of more grapplin hooks
- No more glitched RP's!
- Warriors
- CO assets blah blah blah..
But even with all these large changes (INCLUDING DAQUING OILFIELDS), PR still has me edging to play it everyday. Everyround can be unique.

Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
well, there are a number of things that i really wish PR could include in its abilitys that ArmA doesn nicely. you can all get in an APC. but you can't really load that APC with supplys can you?, the supplys are unlimited your kits are predifined not much option. In ArmA you have a pack and limited slots in that pack a Javeline takes alot of room, where as an M136 does not you can put things in your APC and then if you need them take them out. for example we where being harassed by a helicopter. and there was a stinger in the back of my Stryker. i grabbed the stinger loaded it got a lock on the Kamelov helicopter and a few seconds later the air was quiet again. if you break something it will not "respawn" you will have to take a Service truck as well as a Fuel truck to repair it and fill it up

Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
yeah, but the thing about ArmA is, you have to plan ahead. and "physically" (pun not intended) grab the Stinger from the Ammo crates and then go to the apc and place them inside as well as your ammunition anyways i have no intention of bashing witch it may seem like im doing. Kudos to PR and it's a great game

Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
I don't think he was saying that PR APC's lack AA options for infantrymen and that the chopper would otherwise have been a problem. What I got from what he had to say was that PR's APCs seem to come with a portable pocket dimension where people have virtually unlimited access to equipment of all types. I think he was criticizing PR's seeming use of D&D's "Bags of holding" at field supply stations rather than any perceived vulnerability to threats either from the ground or the air.
@The OP:
I feel for you and hear your plea, but consider that the number of quality players available to play this mod is dependant upon the number of quality players who are interested in it. I think I speak for most of the 5th when I say this mod just isn't "us".
On that note, the number of reports and the level of smacktardary discussed within - some of which I have both seen and experienced first hand - leaves a person like me with even less incentive to hop in for a round or two. If certain PR-not-so-reality issues were addressed, I might feel differently, but there it is. I wish I could help, but I just can't bring myself to endure that kind of self-inflicted punishment. Gosh, that sounds selfish, but it’s the honest truth.

I was finally able to get on the server tonight and saw nothing of what was described from last night. Maybe there's hope yet.

Re: A desperate plea to the TG PR community!
I am done with PR until the new release...I love .5 but don't have the time to DL two versions of .6. Also, the last couple times I played hardly any SLs were watching the messages for where to attack and at least half of them didn't have mikes. No one is talking and communicating and a lot of guys were going rogue. It's still better than vanilla but I am going to lay off a couple weeks till the regular crew comes back and the final of .607 is out. Good luck in the meantime guys!
