Re: Fireteams
Here is my noobie 2 cents...one of the reasons I support TG is for my first experience with E-Male in 1st MIP taking us into a hot situation. I was 2 days into PR. I came in game late. He saw me and designated me to fire team A. One of the fast differences I saw was that we moved cleaner, covered angles better, and made a move through an urban hot zone very quickly. As I played, E-Male as SL moved the B team to cover our flank and he came in behind.
This was amazing...we went from nearly pinned to cleaning out the area. We never fired a shot going in, but we did kill the Rally and then, the squad.
Fire teams taught me the fast lesson that angle cover and buddy system is key in any tactic. The seperation allows for greater deployment of fire as long as coordinated...
Now a few TG SL's who micro managed the entire squad and literally yelled at us to get in position did accomplish same effects. It seemed more chaotic though as there was a lot of chatter...there were many newbies being mixed in giving away position, etc.
The Fireteams allow for 2 guys to work together to keep each other alive and seemed to me to be a great introduction for what Dirtboy wants and demands from the squad as a whole.
Hope to find you in game to see you do it Dirt. Just give me the order sir.
OK , went on a tangent but ya get my drift?
Sometimes I rip, other times I RIP.

Re: Fireteams
Oh, well...the buddy system is different, IMO. The buddy system just feels natural, and if you're in a squad of TG regs, even if its not fireteams, you naturally go everywhere with a buddy. SL's often create these buddy systems without realizing, myself included. I'll send 2 guys to go patrol, without thinking of it as a fireteam. But I choose 2 guys that will talk and help eachother.
Buddy system ftw.
