Re: Kashin Desert
Worst map ever. Enough said =p
In all honesty, unless your a sniper, tanker, or pilot is seems like a waste to play this map. Whenever the server changes to that map a lot of people seem to quit an I don't blame them, as I'm one of them.
*edit* oh I forgot about the ludicrous amount of tickets so the map takes forever to complete to boot (which is what Al basrah use to have, which they have now fixed)

Re: Kashin Desert
My game on this was mercifully short relatively. The CO was doing good building stuff but it wasnt enough, there was a short infantary battle at the central bunkers and the rest of the fights just involved dying with no chance to return fire.
The tanks can see through the tips of the mountains, there is no way to attack them except in a jet or tank it seems - the brims are useless at long range.
Final glimpse of hope, the massive AA defences put in at the USA main base proved of some use.
I shot down a frogfoot with rockets, it flared, i gained a proper lock as it looped back onto us. fired once, hit, fired twice and a glancing blow and as it seemed to escape the tail was on fire, engine failure and he dived his death into our hangar. Except I didnt get any kill for it so I presume he ejected at some point, bah

Re: Kashin Desert
You got the plane, that 's what counts.
I like the map as long as people stay away from the airfield. This saturday we had an AA camping our runway while two other flags had to be taken. There were no other vehicles at the airfield and it was our only spawn, so we had nothing to take it out. When I told US to get their AA away from our airfield (as it 's againt the TG rules), I got no response... When the Frogfoot spawned, it got taken out before the engine warmed up.
Saturday night was the worst night I ever had on TG... no teamplay, teamkilling for planes, baseraping, no reporting, bunnyhopping, and so on and so on. At least I got Dirtboy to ban two people, but there were like 10 more needing one... just hard to get there names.

Re: Kashin Desert
I complained about spawn camping in the beta and the devs were pretty good about it and put in tons of AA guns and even introduced AA rocket launchers which are on no other map in order to combat the very fast f16, etc
As far a tank firing on the base from miles away on a neighbouring hill their wasnt any apparent solution to that. Theres a dome of death on the actual runway. I cant really think of in game solution, lots of TOW launchers maybe ?
I think that pilot who bailed may have died from going out of bounds, ie. bled to death

Re: Kashin Desert
Cool, maybe they'd be up for that
At the end of the game (if all other flags are lost) its down to that remote flag building away from the runway (the one with ammo caches by it ) so it doesnt effect balance issues really

Re: Kashin Desert
Personally is my experience that the map call for the use of combined arms and coordination. Unlike many other maps, were the flags arenīt too far away from each other, so do this map call for some strategy. With it taking time to move between flags so do I get the impression that this map endorse defending flags to a greater extent than others.

) but there 's nothing against armour or mobile AA... They should add at least 4 TOW 's, one in each corner.
