Finally some real good news, I'm back ingame

I really had no idea how PB works, I thought the aimbot kick was real-false detection in my pc and not their server, thats why I didnt think about that guy till this morning.
Vista was blocking PB from updating and installing PR fixed it, it seems.
Since I semi-know that guy, I got his address and went to him with a friend, he was pretty shocked seeing me..could tell straight away that it was his fault.
He invited me inside and I confronted him, he agreed to buy me a new copy of the game and apologized for stealing my cd-key.

I picked up Battlefield:Complete Collection, thats pretty cool - never played Euro Forces and Armored Fury
Had a round in jubal al buri in TG earlier till the game crashed.

Sadly I cant delete or unban my IGN "ZZEZ" so I'm now "ZZEZ2".

Definatly. As far as I know, proper LAN etiquite is that NOBODY is allowed to see eachothers cd-keys, EVER. Sorry you got slammed by him, but at least it all worked out.

I dont do lan partys anymore for this very reason. A "freind" was looking thru my software and seen my XP key, he ganked it and i had to spend 3 hours on the phone wiht microsoft explaining to them what had happend.

Needless to say my friend bought me a new XP.
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

    Definitely.
Or don't share all of your hard-drive? How is this done? The cd-key is in the registry right? Shouldn't be too hard to not share this?

Nothing is shared on my computer, when I was away from it he took a peak in to my BF2 pack that had the cd-key in, and he wrote it on a paper..what a bastard

I guess next LAN party I'll use one of these NO-CD patches to avoid this happening again.

Aha that's it then, because BF2 normally doesn't send the CD key over the tubes, that is why it has the hash.

Download or create a DVD-image and load it with Daemon Tools, this way you can leave your disks at home next time you go to a LAN. Also, lock your computer when you leave it, so people can't peak into your registry .
