Their training is more comprehensive and detailed.

In many ways this is a research experiment to see if the suppression effect makes a difference in the game play.
My main goal has been to train 5 individuals to take advantage of the suppression effect PR has. If we can accomplish this, maybe I might cover other topics of interest.

It was my original intent to train the irregs and close friends who play PR first but now it has become a TG-PR community ordeal.

Re: I need a show of hands: PR squad training

we had 2 support kits in our squad on Mestia last night, our single squad defending a greyed-out perimeter base1 flag against the entire militant team. I know that both kits ran out of ammo several times from suppressing fire orders, and that as long as we had 2 men on each side of them, they rarely got taken out. I watched quite a few militants hit the dirt and try and hide behind a tree only to get flanked by our other squad members. How much damage they did to troops they never saw by firing that much I really would like to know.

Suppression works very well from what I've seen when you have a SL who calls out arcs of fire or targets and a squad that can get the rounds out.

If you have a grenadier who can drop the 40mm goodness behind the cover the enemy are using, they're pretty much screwed.

You don't need a SAW if the SMs all converge semi auto fire on the target as the receiving end (which I've been on) can hardly tell the difference as rounds are rattling off the cover like ammo's half price either way.

Another good tactic that needs to be learned is for commanders and squad mates to coordinate needed air support...

For example, on that huge desert map (kahsan or something?) a squad is moving towards the bunker but sees a tank in the hill and cant move forward so they put an attack order on the tank and ask the commander that they need air support on their attack position. Commander selects the chopper squad and tells them that there is armor there, gives them an attack order right on top of the other squads and rains down TV

Any map that has a heavy attack chopper needs the team to provide scout and reconnainse for that heli.

Combine good info with a good gunner who can use the tv missile and your'll win the map, its that important.

It doesnt have to be particularly complicated, just getting the team to spot valid targets as a boat makes a big difference. Often people spot targets and it doesnt appear on the minimap, totally useless. Spot it manually if you have to.

The commander route is more cumbersome, just a good quality of communication makes a big difference

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

Exact reason why i suggested the commander method. Too many times the spots don't appear, and too often a manual spot gets bugged and doesn't go where you want it to. But if your squad is in a pinch and you need to get out of it quick, the attack marker method prioritize the target so that the infantry squad has a less chance of dieing..

Targets are good, kills are good... but targets do have a priority that is defined in terms of the effect which they are having on the battle field at the current moment.
