There is also an M249 that is 7.62?

    Yeah, either way, it's not a .50cal.

Either way it's a mounted gun and a nice screenshot!

    M249 round: .223 cal OR 5.56mm

    M240 round: 7.62mm OR .30 cal

    M2 round: .50 cal or 12mm

U.S. Military Ammo is NOT .223, it is 5.56.

.223 and 5.56 are not the same thing or caliber either. 5.56 is a higher pressure cartridge and generates a small bit more velocity. There is also a bit of difference in case dimensions and quite a bit of difference in chamber dimensions.

While a weapon chambered in "5.56" can shoot ".223" ammunition, if one shoots 5.56 in a gun that is chambered for ".223", expect a boom.....

Also, there are MANY rifle cartridges that fall under ".30 cal", so that isn't exactly correct either. For instance: 7.62x54, 7.62x39, 303 British, 30-30, 30-06, 30 carbine, etc...

The list goes on and on....

Just wanted to clear that up

Oh, and the rough equivalent of the 7.62 NATO round is .308 Winchester, not .30.

I know one of these, theres two types of 50 cal ammo.
The Russian type 12.7x 108 and Nato type 12.7x99. Neither can be fired in the wrong gun

Confusingly Kord produce 50 cal machine guns for both types of ammo, I think in PR we assume all .50 ammo is 12.7x99mm

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.
