Doing it with AT's isn't allowed. I don't see why this should.

They fly around in real life with machine guns on the sides of helicopters, not anti-tank.

AT isn't allowed because first of all, IRL the back-blast would completely obliterate your littlebird and everyone inside, and second you can't shoot it from the helos in-game anyways. I suppose you could shoot the grenadier from the helo's, but I doubt you'd be able to hit anything...

if you are providing cover for someone as you are dropping them off (thats what we were doing) then why not spray and pray, the only difference from firing the .50 cal on a humvee or vodnik as you are driving crazy through an area is that you are not in the air, and not exposed on the skids of a LB....but thats MHO.....yea AT wouldn't work, it wouldnt work on any chopper, or even in a humvee...thats the beauty of PR.

FIVE British soldiers in Afghanistan are engulfed in a massive fireball as a 105mm field gun explodes.
The frontline gunners had turned their backs as the order to “fire” rang out as they targeted the Taliban seven miles away.
But a flaw in the recoil system meant the breech holding a high-explosive 15kg shell exploded – shooting a ball of flame 25ft into the air.
Incredibly, the men from 4th Regiment Royal Artillery emerged with just minor burns after the horror in the southern town of Garmsir.
The gunners, based in Osnabruck, Germany, were supporting colleagues under rocket fire from Taliban fighters.
