in BattleRecorder, there is a command like renderer.drawhud 0 or renderer.hud 0 or something along those lines. It turns off everything hud-related, including the commo rose. Maybe even the compass. I'm pretty sure it turns off player names.

Renderer.drawhud 0 and it doesn't remove the tags. The only way to do it is by using Battlerecorder and Battledirector (program from Sir community). You might be able to do it by editing the python files but I 'm not sure if PB will allow that.
I always turn the 3D map and HUD off when I take screenshots, but I hate the fact that you can't get rid of the tags.

To remove nametags you can add "renderer.drawNameTags 0" to your mods/pr/gamelogicinit.con file.

So I got a new computer recently because my old one got kinda screwed over... Anyway, I made sure the new comp could run PR at relatively high graphics and it can making it way better than what I had before. Yesterday though, I noticed something funny with the shadows.

(the chinaman manning the .50 cal is not actually rendered as part of the shadow when in a vehicle)Googol

Yea that happens with everyone, bf2 shadows are screwy. When they first released the game it required all new drivers
If you are in the back of a co truck, check out your shadow and you will see a floating weapon shadow in the middle of the air, but you will cast none. Basically we are bf2 vampires or something
