When you have an APC at the main, and your squad leader wants you to bring up a mobile spawn you should not have to worry about being kicked from the server for bringing armor into play. Fearing a kick from the server for following a squad leader's orders is stupid. I had brought the armor up on those specific orders in this particular case. This is not an acceptable bug.

Maybe it's not really a bug and the negative score kick setting on the server is just a bit too low... just a hunch.

You should only be bothered by this in the beginning of the round, if it happens during the round, it must be a bug. One successful drop-off, a flag cap assist, or whatever should give you enough points not to be kicked...

It was well into the round and as I said I had a decent KD and it was after two flags had been capped by me although I don't remember exactly how far into the game it was, I would guess I had at least 100+ overall points although I have no idea how many support points I had as those seemed bugged. I've also had squad members kicked for the same crap 20 minutes into a game. Because it kicks suddenly and I cannot look at my score any longer I don't have the ability to check my score right before being kicked, although I could possibly check it after on the BR after.

Even at the beginning of the game this means on Jabal the chopper pilots dropping off the first wave of people can risk being shot down and kicked for doing their job. I don't care when during the round this happens it is a bug.

    Re: Negative score

I was playing Kashan last night, and at the start of the round someone managed to drive their vehicle into my parked tank at the MEC outpost, killing himself - not sure if someone else was in the vehicle with him. This resulted in me being kicked for negative score due to the teamkill(s). Not sure what happened at all, as I didn't see him coming. At the time I was the squad leader of the Armor squad, parked in my tank and was issuing orders to my squad. So I was kicked for sitting in a tank doing nothing but what I was supposed to do.

I've also had the recent fortune of being kicked when a teammate drove over a mine at the Checkpoint on Al Basra, giving me 3 teamkills.

The crappy part of both of these situations is that in each case the person who forced the teamkills suffered no penalty whatsoever and remained on the server.

Something needs to be done about the point system or the kick threshold - it's tough enough to get onto the server without someone causing you to be kicked because of their own idiocy.

    Re: Negative score

That's a serious problem with negative point kicks being so low. As much as I think the attack on the APC discussed in the OP is legitimate (and shouldn't result in a kick), I think you should be responsible for other players being idiots.

It is very easy in PR to get teamkills in your score due to other people actions. After testing sessions, one of my fun is to find new ways to kill myself, giving a TK to someone else on my team.

    Re: Negative score

So I just got kicked for being the gunner for the squad leader right when I joined as I was the only other team member at the main base when I joined. Get shot with a missile before getting points automatic kick. I'm guessing the squad leader did not get kicked.

This is not encouraging teamplay in any way.

    Re: Negative score

I haven't been able to test the new patch yet but I 'm hoping to do so tomorrow. I did read that the point system is kind o' messed up so perhaps you lose a lot more points now for certain actions. If I get to play this weekend I 'll try and do some testing on a local server.

    Re: Negative score

I also got kicked tonight for a negative score.

Seven Gates started up. I spawned at River Fort and grabbed my officer kit (as I was SL). I hid in the bunker for a few minutes while giving orders to my squad mates. When I came out I got on the AA gun for about 5 seconds, got killed and then got kicked for negative score. I didn't have a chance to see what my score was or what prompted the kick (a team kill was unlikely as no friendlies were in the area of my firing). Maybe the gun exploded and it blamed me or maybe it was because I had an officer kit and died with 0 points??

In any case, I think the PR Devs made major adjustments to the negative point system so TG might consider adjusting how many it takes for Punkbuster to trigger a kick. Or is it possible to postpone that function for the first 5 minutes?

    Re: Negative score

So I gather the general consensus is that getting negative points and/or kicked by PB when you're just trying to do your job sucks? Really? Ya think? Yeah, it's great fun when you are a Blackhawk pilot transporting troops and you get shot down. OH NOES! YOU CRASHED TEH CHOPPA! KICKZORS! Yeah, what about the retards throwing tickets away by mindlessly rushing a well-prepared multi-squad defense? Do they get kicked for idiocy and sometimes insubordination? Nope, they get to merrily screw your team over, while you get kicked for attempting to utilize the assets provided to you. You can have your cake, but you damned sure can't eat it! Brilliant. Just F-ing brilliant.

    Re: Negative score

    My two cents:

While I understand the concept of punishing people for "losing assets", the fact is that losing assets already is punishing in the game. If a team has someone who is irresponsible with a vehicle, that hurts the team already, before the negative points are even applied.
So this is really a way to punish teams who don't have it together, which again, should already lead to their downfall. There's no need to punish the individual again. Proper use of assets leads to winning while improper use leads to losing. Problem is already taken care of!

    Re: Negative score

Any development on getting the negative score kick changed?

Still seems grossly unfair. Today, I joined the game and spawned on an APC (well back from the frontline), then the APC gets destroyed just as I spawn into a passenger seat giving me -40 points and a kick!

Can we have this auto-kick turned off if possible?

    Re: Negative score

Yeah, it's kind of useless. It was meant to be used as getting rid of TKers but now since it's down to a 1 min wait time they just join right back in. It should just be turned off.

Damnit Blizzard, fix ZvT already >.<
