Retrospect on Original R6V

I purchased the original Rainbow Six Vegas only a few weeks before the release of its sequel and actually didn’t have time to finish it, so I decided to play it again a few days ago to complete the campaign. While still a fun game, I have to say that R6V2 is a much better title. It may have seemed like an expansion upon its release, but you can really tell the differences with just a few minutes playing the original. The graphics are much improved, AI are more responsive and gameplay just seems a lot smoother.

I will still probably try to finish up some of the single player content I have left in the original and might try to get someone to help with the cooperative stuff. However, R6V2 certainly seems a much better title with a little retrospect.

now they just need to re-release those red and black map packs for V2.

Re: Retrospect on Original R6V

I personally liked the first ones story better. I got into the story a little more. I really enjoyed The Strip level and first few casinos.

I'd be happy to help you out with the co-operative stuff, however I traded that title in for R6V2.

No worry, Clodhopper. Once I complete the few things I have remaining to finish out the campaign and possibly the Terrorist Hunts, I'll be trading R6V in for something else. The sequel certainly moved the series ahead enough not to want to return to the original again.

I do agree with Khan that the original story was much better than the sequel. The gameplay, however, is much more improved than I first thought upon its release.
