"Its easy to argue about issues from afar. But until you have experienced the issue first hand, you have not seen all the facts."
Carver you will be cut off for a long time before reinforcements can reach you "I am the reinforcements the main force is only coming to bring me body bags and to clean up the mess Im about to make" - General Carver
You get some weapons instantly instead of having to unlock them. The G41 sniper rifle and the MKB42 assault rifle for the Germans, and the AVT40 rifle and the SVT40 sniper rifle for the Russians.
A German helmet and a Russian cap for characters in TF2.
A German soldier and a Russian soldier to play as in Killing Floor.
Not a great deluxe edition, but for £5 more (£2.50 in the sale) it could be worth it for the MKB42 alone. The main draw of it was access to the beta, which is obviously not an issue now.

Quick history lesson. The Mkb 42 (Maschinenkarabiner 1942 - Machine Carbine 1942) was a prototype weapon with an esoteric name that hid it's true purpose (and to keep Hitler from shutting down its development). The next year the updated weapon was called the MP43 (Maschinenpistole 43 - Machine Pistol 1943) and by the following year was called the StG44 (Sturmgewehr 1944 - Assault Rifle 1944). "Assault rifle" is something we can picture and understand at the present.
TWI (the makers of RO2) are listening to the community at large and are still polishing and tweaking the game based on community feedback. Seriously.
Most people did not like 8 players running around with assault rifles, so they've since lowerd the number of the "assault" class on each map. I also predict with community maps around the corner, we'll have engagements at longer ranges where the Kar98s and Mosin-Nagants will get more love. The current TWI maps are mostly urban (*cough* Stalingrad *cough*), so the Mkb42 causes quite a ripple in the pond. Personally, I get a great deal of satisfaction when bayonetting someone who is using the Mkb42 and has their back to me, or even better, when they see me coming but are desperately trying to reload.
As for the Russian unlock (AVT-40), that thing just kicks like a mule in full auto so if I find myself using one I habitually just switch to semi-auto. Both the AVT-40 and Mkb42 can be switched from semi to full auto, by the way.
Here's the AVT-40 in action, and you can see why you quickly find yourself staring at the sky when rocking and rolling. The player is obviously brand new (he unlocked his "I killed 10 human players!" achievement during the round), so attribute his running around to the novelty of the game. I hope.
