Patch info: New map, vehicles

Check it out.

Apparently this map was pretty popular in the mod; I never played the mod, but it looks sweet to me. I really like the urban combat in RO so far, and the more there is, the merrier.

Danzig was a great city map in the mod. The only problem was the nade spamming on the start bridges. Hopefully this has been adjusted.

Re: Patch info: New map, vehicles

The new map sounds great, but this info is especially interesting IMO:

Apart from the usual long list of new features, enhancements and bug fixes, there are a couple of other key additions to draw to people's attention. The first is the inclusion of "ROTV", allowing games to be viewed and shown to large numbers of spectators, without adding vast loads to servers. Ideal for "televising" clan matches and tournaments! The other is a change to the underlying game engine that allows a much longer viewing distance. Previously, the engine limited mappers to view distances of just over 1,000 metres. Now mappers can set that distance out to 2000, 3000 or even 4000 metres - ideal for those long-range tank engagements! Last but not least, this patch officially adds full and robust support for the Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard's LCD Screen.

Danzig... I had some good play on that map.

They really need to get the Local VOIP channel issue fixed though. That's a real showstopping glitch that ruins the game especially on tank maps.

I did find one thread about it the other day when I was parusing the RO forums but no solution yet.

Hmm, I may have to load up some RO after this patch if I can get my head out of COH.

It's out! Downloading now, looks to be about 80-90 MB worth. Initial reports on the RO forums seem positive. Downloading now, will report back later!

Nice to see a company supporting it's product. I can't wait to see what they do with their Unreal 3 engine license. Hopefully it will be RO 2.0.

Man, they could do just about anything with Unreal 3 and I'd be happy. Gears of War looks so beautiful and they've managed to do that using only the color gray; I can't wait to see what Tripwire does.
