Thats all fine and good and not a knock on the game at all. But to call that review "neutral" or unbiased is a bit much having read it and considering his relationship (past or present) w/ Tripwire. You obviously afforded him some benefits others dont get for him to write that. Every company does. Dont expect him to say anything less than flattering good game or not.

Actually, no, he was afforded absolutely no benefits other than a Beta key... we don't have any other "benefits" to give away

A person is free to write a review like this of their own accord. They don't need to be gifted or bribed into it. Sometimes a game just hooks them and they've got nothing other than stellar things to say. No conspiracy needed at all in this recipe.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "good doggie" while looking for a bigger stick.

Huh?? My copy of the beta came with all sorts of goodies.

    For VOIP, of course:

A year's supply (to keep me fed while I play Red Orchestra, I presume):

And just to keep me in good spirits, I guess:

You guys didn't get this stuff, too?

I got a "designer ballpoint pen".

I'll swap it for the car poster.

Just like he's free to write his opinion so am I. Bit hypocritical? Everyones entitled to their opinions and there's no "conspiracy" trying to be drummed up. Just reading that article it didnt come across as neutral to me, disclaimer or not. It was a rah rah go buy this game at the end. Maybe a free Beta key is enough for him? Maybe not. Think what you want and I'll think what I want. I'll judge the game on its merits if and when the time comes like i do for every game.

I don't think that accusing other TG members of bribing people is something that I want to see here. Knock it off.

No, but Mr. Wilsonam is. He already said that all the guy got was a beta key.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature, who has no chance at being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. -- John Stuart Mill--

Alan Wilson is a TG member. He's also a RO developer from Tripwire. You accused Tripwire of bribing the reviewer. That lacks class, and without evidence, is probably illegal. Knock it off.

Chill, guys... no offense was taken and I pretty much doubt it was intended. Besides, Jusb is right to be suspicious - whenever some nasty corporate feeds stuff into the public domain, anyone with the relevant braincells is likely to wonder "why" and "how"

@ Jusb - do me a favour and write your own piece when you've seen the game And if you think it is a pile of crap, just say so nicely

Well put. I intended nothing like has been made out by others here. I probably should have just said nothing if i had known i was going to get backlash. I am always suspicious of gaming reviews. Thats all it was.Whether its some huge site i.e. IGN or some random ex-beta tester from Tripwire. That's all i was saying. I meant no offense to the developers (it was not an attack on you at all) and its great that they are here and contribute to a mature community.

I havent played the game but i have been following it for a while now. I'd rather judge a game on my own. If its good we'll know right away because it will have a dedicated following here. I'll give my own opinions good or bad when the time comes.
