    Spectator Mode

On page 30 of the game manual it states that you can join the game as a spectator. It's a really useful function for figuring out the maps, and getting tips from veteran players, as you can spectate from their perspective.

It's a useful function and I recommend it to anyone, and it's certainly something I'm going to do until I feel really comfortable with the game.

Also worth noting, whenever you die, instead of staring at the sky you actually go into spectator mode until you respawn.

I believe this is a server setting. After playing the game for a bit, we'll have to decide what we want to do here at TG (fade to black until respawn, stare at the sky until respawn, or go into spectator mode until respawn).

I think either stare at the sky or go black would be good. That way there is no teliing what is happening and it will give it a more realistic feel. How does the saying go "Dead men tell no tales".

I like that the Spectator mode has been included, it gives not so good players like me the chance to observe how the really good players play. Also, as stated, it gives all new players a chance to familiarise themselves with the maps.

Agreed. I have never been a big fan of spectating while being in the game. Imagine you, and your squad have spent a good amount of time getting into a excellent position to ambush, or snipe etc. You execute your plan by the numbers...good work team. Now what are those unlucky soles who fell under your fire doing? Well they are free caming around trying to locate you , and your team. What a waste. IMO, when you are dead, you are dead. BTW, I don't mind non-players spectating.

    My 2 cents.

    Re: Spectator Mode

I think for the first week or two we should have spectator on so people who didn't get the chance to play the beta can get a feel for the game but i think staring at the sky is a bit more realistic without being boring like fade to black.

I second that. Spectator mode could be more or less a 'trial', while players are still new to the game. Kind of like the server settings. Get everyone used to it first, then poof.
