    Ugh...Public (beta) servers...

    Our server can't come quick enough. I tried and I tried to play tonight but was turned off by the players each time. Between the comments like '89 what!', a player referring to his score, to the aspiring 'Owned!' when getting killed. It was a very very bad gaming night. Hurry up Tuesday!

    Lately, the public servers have been giving me excessive lag. Can't wait for the TG server..

    O believe me, we just got our TG certified Ban Hammers (w/50% more BOOM!) today. I can guarantee that our RO server will be run just like every other TG server here. Follow the TG rules and mind set and you will have no problem playing here. Alls we ask as Admins is point people to our SOPs and server rules, if more people would actually read them before posting the posts about being banned we would have no problem. Im not point fingers just putting that out there.

    Unfortunately the manual is wrong. Only the person that spots the artillery can call it in on the radio. It doesn't make any sense to me however. How is a commander in the middle of a field going to make his way to a radio? A mod I'd immediately like to see is to either change this to allow anyone to call in the artillery or to create a radio class who can call in artillery from the field once a NCO has spotted it, but he has to be within 5m of the NCO when he calls it in to HQ.

    With resepect to increasing the lethality of arty, be careful what you wish for!


    (In the BF2 Tactical Mod, arty was completely removed.)

    Sorry guys, JMJ gave me his well broke in, well used, old BF2 ban hammer.

    I was on last night and the game sucked as Tzefanya said. It was all run and gun. No team work. There was one time that it was only the two of alive at the end of a match. Now that was team work. Did not do us any good but it shows what communication does.

    Well, that was because there was no way to make it longer to charge, etc. In RO you only get seven artillery strikes in a round, so use them wisely. Like when three enemy tanks are sitting side by side. That'll teach 'em to sit still...

    That stinks that the commander can't spot targets and have someone else call in the strike. It can be a pain to walk out in a field, spot a target, run back to a radio and hope your target has remained stationary the whole time. Probably not.

    Remember to tell admins of problematic players through teamspeak even if we are not in the RO channel. We are more than willing to help.

    Urg. The more I read about what you guys have to say about public servers, the more I'm convinced that TG will be the only server(s!!!) I'll be playing in. This is a good thing, I guess. There just better be room

    There will be room, I say!!!

    The thing about "problematic players" is that it can be really subjective in this game. If you enter an enemies spawn area, you die. You can't bunny hop nor dolphin dive.

    You can TK, but I'm sure there will be a lot of unintentional TK'ing until people are up to speed, and still some on a regular basis (who hasn't been killed while pulling the pin on a grenade and in turn blowing the guts out of a comrade??)

    The one that can't be objectively measured is "spawn rushing" where a player just spawns and charges without regard to his life or the reinforcements of his team. What do you say, "Hey, you died 34 times last round but everyone else only died 11 times, get lost!!"? I know casualties can be extreme but there are some people that just don't get this game, or they think it's funny to rob one side or the other of precious reinforcements. I guess if a distinct pattern emerges over several rounds something has to be said to a player, but on the same hand I don't want to frighten people away from this game since death is a common occurence, ya know? It's really a difficult situation for the admins to be in...
