Release Day -- What to Expect
For Red Orchestra fans, this is the big day! Here is what you can expect at Tactical Gamer.
Apophis will be setting up our Red Orchestra servers as soon as he is able. At this point, we intend to run two 32-player servers. Once he has the servers ready and running smoothly, we'll post their IP addresses in this forum. Also, once Apophis confirms the final server settings, we'll post them here. Please be patient.
Due to the anticipated demand by Tactical Gamers, we will be passwording our servers for at least the first couple of days after launch. This should help to ensure quality play and good availability for Tactical Gamers. As things settle down and more slots become available on the servers, we'll adjust accordingly.
We're not yet sure how automated Supporting Member preference will work. Until this is resolved, admins will provide Supporting Member preference manually through Teamspeak.
Please keep an eye on this forum for updates. Server IPs and password(s) will be available as soon as everything is ready.

Re: Release Day -- What to Expect
Question: Will access to these passworded servers be just for supporting members, or TG as a whole?

Re: Release Day -- What to Expect
In addition, expect a lot of frustration if you are coming from BF2 or other like games. It's going to take around 5 or 6 hours of play to begin adjusting to the 'RO style'.

Re: Release Day -- What to Expect
I will venture to say for TG as a whole will have access to the PW. It is not like the private server of BF2 where we have SM nights. This is a community game.

Re: Release Day -- What to Expect
Strag can confirm, but my understanding is the password will NOT be limited to SM members. The intent is not to prevent non-SM players from playing, but to help prevent a pubbie invasion. Think of it in the same light as the 'password nights' we used to have with BF2.

Okay, I was thinking it was along the lines of a password night, but just wanted to confirm.

Yes, this is the intent exactly. Any member of the Tactical Gamer forums will have access to the password(s) for the Red Orchestra servers. Sorry for the confusion!

Probably for the best at first. I may have to end up setting a SM account soon, though

Re: Release Day -- What to Expect
Great to hear guys. I tried venturing out into pubbie land on the beta again last night and got a grim taste of life in the wild. Sounds like you guys are completely on the ball here.
