talking?
why is there adsolutely NO talking in the server currently?
no one is replying to any messages or anything, i (well WE) have no clue whats going on yet no one is even trying to reply to text or even talk about plans/replys
and dont tell me about it being "new" so its going to be odd at first..... even the newest of CS/DOD players know how to type!

Re: talking?
Jump on TeamSpeak if you can, there's a bunch of guys there ready to help.
First days are hectic, most people aren't looking at the chat log with so many lethal distractions.Tac-D

Re: talking?
also make sure you're not sitting in the middle of a field with no one around on "local"... a bunch of use were using Team and Local in game to coordinate while we tried to get used to playing.

Re: talking?
If VOIP isn't working for you at all, try this.

Re: talking?
We're used to using the in-game *VOIP* and not the in-game text around here, as well as Teamspeak. It's just easier to hit one button and talk into a mic than to type a lot or go through the in-game menu. We're a bit spoiled as this is one of the things that BF2 did VERY well, with the well-organized VOIP for squads and CO's - and the "commo rose" that allowed for target spotting and simple requests with the mouse.
I saw you typing and replied a few times, but it scrolls fast and is hard to notice in the heat of battle - voice comms of some sort are going to be the norm, so I'd try using those if possible.BF2 POE2: NC_Tarheel

Re: talking?
problem is
1: i dont have a mic (not a big prob as its cheap)
2: its often 1-4am when im playing due to time zones... theres no way im going to get away with chatting!
while i understand that voice is better, people wasnt even using voice that much!! i had to guess where people was going.
anyway if someone asks a Question via text..... surely you can reply via vox?

Re: talking?
I feel your pain. This was a huge issue with the mod version of RO... Noone used a mic. The better servers would say "just use teamspeak", but people never used that for communications, just for shooting the sht.
I was hoping that more people would use voice chat in RO:O.

Re: talking?
Playing BF2 on TG servers, I believe >90% of players have and use their mic. It is definitely better than typing, and it lets my French accent go through, which I'm sure sounds like music to my squad mates!
I am expecting the same VOIP usage with RO (on TG servers of course, where else would you play RO?).
For the night time, I have the same constraints as you Overlag. I just try and keep the sentences to the minimum. "Rgr that", "OK" go a long way, they let your SL know you understood the order and you're going for it. Whereas "OK" in the spam box will probably go unnoticed.

Re: talking?
You don't have a mic but you want other people to talk? Seems a bit hypocritical eh? If you have something important to say over voice chat then it makes sense, but if nobody's saying anything it might just be a dull moment.

Re: talking?
Can we clarify whether we're using in-game VOIP or TeamSpeak at this point as the official way of communication on RO?
