Cant go from iron sigted prone to iron sighted crouch. Cant count the number of times ive died from that
VOIP is buggy, and sometimes when people are talking it comes through too softly and you cant hear them
Jump key is useless and you cant jump over sandbags and other low obstacles

Re: First Impressions
from the 10 mins ive just played in practice mode i can say i like the ballistics and handling of the weapons, there a distinct lack of texture filtering and aa thats getting on my nerves though

Re: First Impressions
My first impressions are me getting kicked from the server repeatedly after saying "you suck
" once (wasn't even swearing, lets face it, we all get mad when we get shot stupidly) and then realizing that was a mistake. I also said "the ping is bad" which was true because it was over 100 for everyone. Then I got kicked without any kind of warning.
Oh, and for the few minutes that I *was* playing there was absolutely no coordination whatsoever. Thanks for making this experience worse then a pub. Should I just go back to CS:S/BF2 where not only do people play together but they don't kick you?

Re: First Impressions
as an RO admin i can honestly say that im sure there was more then just that that went into you getting kicked. And if you have a problem with the server or the admins it has always been TG rules to pm them, not to bring it up in the forum.
And read our SOPs and everything is stated therethat sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: First Impressions
With the attitude you're showing here, I'm tempted to wonder if you weren't kicked for more offensive behavior than what you describe.

Re: First Impressions
Dislikes: As noted, clunky player movement. Don't think I've heard but 1-2 full sentences through VOIP, I just get bits...eh...north...enemy...sorry...ahh...move...t ank..etc.
Everything else I dig

For folks having trouble with VOIP, please see this link. Hopefully trying those settings will help.

Re: First Impressions
Downtown1, I kicked you around 7:30 or so simply to make room for a Supporting Member. Unfortunately there is no easy way to tell you that at the moment. If you were kicked other times the admins who did it could provide you specifics.

Tanks are sweet and will be better when I get my Joystick all straightened out.
Clicking to reload is different.
Sounds are awesome.
Environment is scary with all the smoke, rain and explosions.
Love the tracers bouncing all over.

The VOIP is crappy at best for me. Most of the time I don't hear people at all and just see the chat message for that person. If I check the box for dampen the environmental sounds when VOIP is used, it usually goes silent while someone is talking. I suggest we put teams on TS channels and drop the VOIP. We did it with AAO and it worked fine.
Jumping and climbing over obstacles is bad.
Movement seems cumbersome most of the time.
For me to ever be a sniper or anything other than a tanker or rifleman my load time seems fast but there are slim pickens when I get to the class selection screen, 2 gigs of RAM is a must. Not a real big deal just a first impression that could frustrate some players."Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be an ugly brawl."

But the lack of coordination was true. I'm sure it will get better once people learn the game, but it won't really be at BF2 level since there are no squads or real commanders.
EDIT: Could we get squad-level teamspeak? That might work.

Re: First Impressions
not really even feasable to have a squad level TS channels cuase the squads are always changeing. It of has been working where on person is directing troops, fried was doing this earlier and it workd good.
dislikes ONLY ONE SNIPER!..only time i ever get the damn thing is after i kill the enemy sniper and steal histhat sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: First Impressions
I played for about 10 minutes online after spending about 10 minutes in single player.
Likes: Cover system (pop up with iron sights, go down to take cover), movement (it's not clunky, it's more like real life than instantly changing directions at full speed), tracers, shells bouncing off of tanks, cooking grenades. "Local" VOIP is fun!
Dislikes: My screen resolution is low since that's all my system can support, so people that are like 3 pixels tall are shooting me. Nobody ELSE understands how to use VOIP
Rather big learning curve, although that can't really be avoided. And I hate grenades. I killed like 4 teammates in my 10 minutes, 3 of them with grenades, not to mention the 3 times I waxed myself. I think I'll stick to guns for a while.
And Santa, if you can go from prone to crouching while keeping the iron sights at your face in real life, be my guest, but this game is very realistic and there's no way that I could do something like that.|TG-Irr|TychoCelchuuu
