Re: Questions and Answers About Red Orchestra!

Some things i found out playing my first rounds yesterday ...

Q: Can i carry more than one weapon?
A: You can pick up a Panzerfaust additionally to your rifle and carry it along. Either from a fallen soldier or from an ammo supply box (at the center of Koenigsplatz for example)

Q: I can hear the enemy "Local" VOIP talk.
A: I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature. I heard enemies talking about they being in a tunnel, guess they were right below me. I rather think of it as a feature.

Q: Which way to kill a friendly do you like best?
A: I like being in a farmhouse with a comrade - the enemy just outside the open door. At the second your comrade wants to throw a grenade outside the door, walk up to it and close it. The grenade will bounce off the now closed door back in the room and kill you both. (I was the one closing the door, sorry for that

    Some answers...

    1. The MG barrels will smoke and eventually jam if you just use them like a hose - especially the MG42. If it starts smoking, you're really a bit too "busy" with the trigger - or you're in a world of **** Change barrels... and you can't change barrels on the DP because it required a set of spanners, that the Red Army never quite got around to issuing...

    2. Setting range is important on tanks to get a good first shot in. The lean keys notch it up and down. Estimating range IS hard. Personally, when I jump into the gunner's seat, I automatically set the range to 300-400 metres as a starting measure.

    3. What was "3"?? Oh yes - TK. TK limits are a server option - Server manual is updated, go grab.

    4. You can only carry one "primary" weapon, John Rambo Plus a couple of grenades, PF and a sidearm. Probably manage a satchel charge if you're greedy (and I am, especially on Konigsplatz)

    5. Local means just that - EVERYONE close by can hear you.

    6. I have so many favourite TK methods... let me list just a few:

Toss a grenade in the window just as a team-mate bursts in the back door...
Shoot the commander out of his hatch when trying to clear infantry from behind him...
Dropping arty on a target, warning everyone - and they just won't listen!

Here's one I have not been able to find out.

When a machinegunner ask for more ammo, who can help him, and how?

In my experience, just about anyone else can go over and give him ammo. The default key is "G".

I think everyone can, go up to him and hit G. If the resupply worked it will say so in the upper left corner of the screen.

Pretty much any rifleman, or so it seems. I've done it as a rifleman and as a the dude that comes with the assault rifle (between MP40 and MG42).

There's a key for giving him ammo, default is "G" I think (labelled Resupply MG in the bindings area), and you get 5 points for it! I had a round the other night where I had 17 points - 15 from giving the machine gunner ammo when I ran past him after respawning

Yeah, if you walk up close to an MGunner who needs ammo it will say "Press G To Give Ammo" under his name.
