Re: How about increasing friendly tag distance
Folks, let me make something clear.
We have two Red Orchestra servers. The intention is to keep one server as "community friendly" as possible, with all the features enabled that the majority of Tactical Gamers would like. As we gain the ability to alter server settings, we'll bring these up for discussion and implement what the majority desires.
The other server, however, can certainly be focused more on "realism." This second server can have those features enabled or disabled that the "realism" fans at Tactical Gamer desire most.
There is no reason that both servers have to be the same. There is no reason that both fan bases can't be happy.

Re: Our Servers
That's like saying the second BF2 server is for people who like SF while the first is for people who like Vanilla. Only 1 ever has any people on it. Even when both servers are exactly the same like they are now, I've never seen both of them with people. Of course, I mostly play on off hours.

Re: Our Servers
I think it is a good idea. Firstly it does not serve anyone to have the 2 servers running exactly the same thing, if our numbers don't warrant it. I like the idea of tweaking the game to our needs on the other server.

Re: Our Servers
I think he's trying to say is that players will pick population over desired server settings. It's the same thing we experience with BF2. There are players that want to play SF or tac mod or something else that is hosted on server #2... but they will go to server #1 instead because that's where the people are.

Re: Our Servers
I see Server #2 as being more for scheduled, organized games for fans of realism. Server #1 seems more suited to public/pick-up games.
