We Are So Lucky to Be Here

I saw this article over on Armchair General Magazine's website. I only skimmed it, because it isn't very helpful, but it really made me think about how lucky we are to have a place like Tactical Gamer. All of this guy's tactics are focused on operating a tank alone, and at the end his "suggestions" to change the game are basically just ways to make teamplay harder because he can't deal with other people. From the day I bought Red Orchestra to now, I've probably only played 2 rounds on servers other than Tactical Gamer. I don't even want to think about what games look like out there

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Believe it or not there are alot of people like that out there. Last night I was on Server #1 around 11eastern. Myself and a couple other guys (sorry forgot names) were trying to form a defensive line on the Koningplatz map. It was slow going but as usual just a little teamwork and planning paid off. One of the pubbies complained we were camping and it was no wonder our server was empty and he then promptly logged off. I was laughing!

Hopefully our way of playing is growing and not dying.
She has blue eyes, so it's my fault

Re: We Are So Lucky to Be Here

I was going to come here and post about that article.

I'll suggest something that I did with BF2.... and that is to email the author of the article explaining the mission of tactical gamer and what we're building here with the RO server. It was easier when I did it with BF2 because we were established a bit more with a player-base, rules, scripts, etc. and both of our servers were populated.

This would be a task only for an admin to take as there's a certain format we follow. If you're interested, PM me and I'll hunt down what I used for BF2.
