In this thread alone there are several players who say they play.. But again, the problem is that everyone is playing SOMEWHERE ELSE. If other servers can get seeded, why not ours? It takes a little sacrifice to get a server going. Everyone needs to commit to being there and maybe sacrifice the instant gratification that comes with joining an already populated server.

    3) Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine.

    Re: So...

I can't put my finger on why, but I just couldn't get into this game.

I found the graphics to be horrible and dull. Seems like everything is grey.

Maybe my overall problem with it is, I am bored with WWII.

I played for about the first week of release on the TG server and there were pretty good tactics and team play which was enjoyable but that fell off pretty fast and with no team work on pubs I have walked away.

If there were more committed TG games going on I would overcome my dislike of the graphics and WWII theme just for the opportunity to play a tactical game. I'de be willing to reinstall Quake III, Raven Sheild, UT 2k4 or any aged game I have if I could get a tactical game out of it.

Thats my deal, i can play AA or any other game that uses the UR engine 2.5 and see great graphics. Play RO and it looks like CSS or DOD, just not quality. The game play was good, im just a person of graphics and stuff like that
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Well said, Tempus. This has been the main problem, in my opinion. We get a lot of feedback here at TG and elsewhere about how good both our server and gamestyle are, yet no one actually comes to play. No matter how good our server is or how much we promote it, the bottom line is that we need people to actually show up and play the game. Otherwise, we're wasting hardware resources that could be better used for other needs.

Wulfyn has suggested that we try again (I feel like a relationship therapist) with RO here at TG, with a new RO night on Tuesdays. I'm all for it.

just go to the main page of RO and make some post on the forums about it there but mainly. Go to www dot roladder dot net and look at all the clans visit their personal websites and post on their forums if you get even 1 nearly complete clan showing up you get about 8 players that use mics and know the game .
