Beta crashing on startup - may be video card?

I've seen a couple posts about having trouble starting the beta. On my first attempt, my pc crashed and rebooted. On subsequent attempts, my screen will shut off and there's no activity on the HD/CPU (the work light doesn't light up), resulting in a manual reboot.

Has anyone here had this issue? What did you do to resolve it?

I think it may be a video card issue, with an odd resolution to start the app (I have a widescreen LCD TV that I play through). I noticed there's a Launch Options tab for the game in steam. I'm thinking I might be able to set a custom resolution there similar to BF2's widescreen command line workaround. If that's the case, does anyone know the syntax/command to enter there? Or am I off entirely?

I would've posted this in the proper beta tester forum, but I can't log in there at the moment...

Thanks.

Beatnik, to narrow things down and make sure it's not a resolution issue, can you set your Windows desktop resolution to something like 1024x768 and then see if RO launches? If it works, at least you know what the problem is and can work on it from there.

I did try that, but it looks like it might be a ZoneAlarm issue. I'm going to try to uninstall that and see what's what. Thanks!!

lol Thanks for the PMs guys. Obviously I got it worked out. BTW (to anyone reading this a week from now) it was a Zone Alarm issue. Uninstalling ZA with a couple extra steps cleared it right up.

I'm not willing to uninstall ZoneAlarm. I'm going to see if this update has fixed the bug, though!
