TG Server Lock-up on Map Change
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to post this, but since I couldn't find one specific to server issues... I'll post here.
I got on TG's RO server last night (hoping for my BEST TR experience with RO:O to date
) and found that whenever a map change occurred, it caused my system to hang until the map was over. Once the current map was over, during the intermission between the last map and the next, RO allowed me to join your server. But, on the following map load, the game would again hang until the map was "played out", then again allowing me to rejoin. The only way out of this was to shut down RO during the map loading splash screen using Window's task manager and connect after the map had been started.
There were about 4 people on during the "Red Octorber" map that ran around 7:45 pm EST. After that I think we all found our way to the 29 Inf. Div. server, including a couple of guys sporting the |TG| tag. No problems running the game there (I had to check to make sure this wasn't an issue with the latest patch.)
I would have really liked to have gotten together with some folks from your organization to see how they played, but unfortunately, I had to give up on getting the TG server to work, as did others.
I don't know if it's one of the mutators that are causing this, but I'd ask that you look into the problem. Thanks much and I look forward to playing with some TG players on your server in the near future. Hope this info helps to get the TG RO:O server stabalized.
Cheers!||MP44||FritZ FretZ

Thanks FritZ. As Strag said we will look into it. Welcome to TG. Good to see you found us. Sorry you had a bad experience your first time out.

Re: TG Server Lock-up on Map Change
Server #1 is back up and seems to be running okay, including map changes.
Server #2 has been taken down.

Hey FritZ. I rember you from a couple of nights ago. I only got a few rounds in because everytime I finished loading a map the next map had started.

Re: TG Server Lock-up on Map Change
Thanks guys,
Tzefanya has done some really cool stuff with the mutators on your server. I hope to get the chance to play with you all this weekend or at least next Wednesday.

Re: TG Server Lock-up on Map Change
Hello again,
I tried the TG server again on Sunday April 16 around 7:30p EST. Nobody was there, but I figured I might be able to get some interest going. Unfortunately, I'm still getting a lock-up (stuck at splash-screen) whenever a new map starts. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't have this problem on any server other than TG's. I'll try again tomorrow, "RO Night." Hopefully this will be fixed so we can get the server populated and play RO, "The way it's meant to be played."
Cheers!||MP44||FritZ FretZ

Re: TG Server Lock-up on Map Change
I jumped onto the server tonight (6/26) thinking I might give it another try considering the booster pack is coming tomorrow. I think I am having the same problem as Fritz Fretz did in April. The game stops running during the map load screen right before you enter the next map. Also, the map that is voted for and wins isnt the one that is loaded.
