Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
So then you guys that were playing together were beta testing? Too bad I didn't hear about this game a few weeks back. I guess single player will have to do until the halloween release.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
Yeah, can't wait until Wednesday
I've been playing the demo and have some questions -
1)Can you assign an attribute (skill) to your right mouse button (played alot of Titan Quest and you could assign a skill to your right mouse button)?
2)Do the individual classes have different skill trees?
3)Are there different melee attack moves?
4)Can pets be assigned to all classes?|TG-9th| TheFatKidDeath

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
1) there are 2 skill spheres. One for left click and one for right click. You can place anything on the skill tree there including your basic skills which are attack left hand, attack right hand, and attack with both weapons. If youre using a two handed weapon such as a rifle, just map attack left or right hand on your left click so you can open up a skill to put in your right click. (drag and drop)
Now if you have dual pistols or swords you can map attack left to left click and attack right to right click so you can have maximum control, or, as i usually do, map attack with both weapons to left click which opens up a skill to be put on your right click. You should always use a skill on your right click. A cool thing is that there are three different weapon switches you can use with F1, F2, and F3 and you can map a different skill for each weapon.
Also, some skills can be activated with shift. And example is sprint. When youre moving forward youll see on the bottom left the sprint skill light up meaning all you gotta do is hit sprint to activate it. Very useful as it doesnt take up any slots that can be used for more important skills. But if you also activate tactical stance from the marksman or hunter skills onto your shift key (do this by clickin the up arrow next to the skill till its blue), now you can enter tactical stance but hitting shift while standing still, effectively opening up another skill slot for something else. Even more, if you map escape as a shift skill, if youre backpedaling away from an enemy, youll see the escape skill light up meaning you just hit shift to activate it for a getaway. So by using the shift functionality youve effectively saved youreself 3 skill slots that can be used for other skills.
2) Yes most definately. There are 3 factions - hunter, cabalist, and templar. Now each faction has 2 sub classes. blademaster & guardian for templar. evoker & summoner for cabalist, and marksman & engineer for hunters. So basically there are 6 classes with a different skill tree for each of them. there are some skills that overlap, such as tactical stance for both marksman and engineer, but for the most part each one is very different.
3)Well, not too many with youre basic attack but different skills offer up different attack variations and animations
4)Pets are really only in two classes - the Engineer and Summoner. I love pets so ill be trying them both.
If you have any other questions dude you can always pm me or ill be on TS a lot this week since im off on vacation. I cant wait till tues midnight. We definately gotta hook up man.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
For anyone who preordered off EA Store, is the pre-order dye thinggy code the same as the unlock code?

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
Yes, when you enter your pre-order code and it is accepted (took me 3 codes to get one that worked) the dye should be in your inventory the next time you start the game. Look hard for it, it's only 1 square big.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
Man am I psyched for this game, I keep playing the demo and it oddly gets better each time (even though it's horribly short and the mobs are pathetically small).
The grappling hook/sword combo is preaty awesome game dynamic.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
Subscription details. $10 a month is not the issue with me but what I'm getting for the cash. Looks like it may be worth it with all the new content. The way I see it: you can easily drop $10 on a bad hour and half movie or crappy meal. $10 goes along way in a good game. This also may fill my MMO need until Ago of Conan comes out.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
How can subscription payers get these things:
So would this be restricted to subscriber only modes like Hardcore mode or will there be subscription only servers in order to enforce that non-subscribers cannot use these things?- New Levels to Explore
- New Monsters
- New Weapons
- New Skills and Spells
- New Quests and Storyline
- New Character Classes
The entire subscriber implementation befuzzles me.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
Subscribers will be allowed to group with non-subscribers for non-subscription content (levels, quests, etc), but subscription only items may only be traded with fellow subscribers.
Edit: I realize this is kind of a clumsy explanation. Does that make sense? I can give specific examples if you want.Last edited by Augustus Gloop; 10-29-2007 at 04:32 PM. Reason: I do not like green eggs and ham, Sam I am.

Re: Hellgate: London - the NDA has been lifted.
So lets say a new area is added and new quest relating to the area is also added, a party made up of subscribers and non-subscribers would not be allowed to access the quest and/or area, where a group consisting of pure subscribers could?
