Re: Warhammer: Age of Reckoning
Also, I just checked the Beta page, and the client IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD for Pre-Order people. http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/who_key_auth.aspx
I'm remotely connected to my DVR at home and am getting ready to download the 10GB worth of it.

Re: Warhammer: Age of Reckoning
For anyone interested I will be starting a Destruction guild when the game goes live. A lot of things that make TG great will be key to the guild.
- Heavy focus on strategic PvP/RvR. The goal is to be THE PvP guild on the server.
- Squads will be an important part of the guild. Members will be able to create their own squads complete with name and emblem to be displayed on the website. This will make directing players during large scale battles much easier and also add a fun feature for members who have proven their worth.
- Frequent "boot camps" and similar events will be held as a sort of orientation to new players and also as practice exercises to improve guild teamwork.
If you are interested or have any questions please feel free to drop me a line. We should have a website up within the next couple weeks.

Re: Warhammer: Age of Reckoning
Sorry! I guess we Americans just have a bad habit of thinking the rest of the world is on our schedule
Cid - that's really great that you'll have a guild going for this, though I would hope the guild is TG-based like the AoC ones are. As it stands I know that the IHS can only be created, and joined to, by Supporting Members and I think that may also extend to TG-sponsored guilds? I don't know.
I myself am not sure if I will be playing Order or Destruction; there's about 5 friends I will be playing with to start with (we have all played together since original EQ...) and we are all still evaluating the classes. We won't likely decide until the end of Open Beta.

IHS membership requires you be a TG supporting member. However, joining in game guilds does not.
I don't think there is a TG-sponsored guild other than the fact TG would probably create a forum and TS2 channel for you if you asked. It's different from the FPS games where we actually control a physical server and need to admin it. However, if you are using the actual TG name I'm guessing there would be behavioral expectations since you are representing the community.
Cid - I like the concept for your guild! I do plan on trying WAR but just don't know if I'll last longer in it then the other Fantasy MMORPGs I've tried.

The torrent is for the closed beta, but I'm pretty sure it can be patched to the open beta. The Open Beta is through Fileplanet.

Found out last night. Finished the download, decrypted, and copied to a Warhammer directory.
But the actual install won't commence, because it can't patch, because the Open Beta accounts aren't open yet
I thought I could at least get to a character selection screen and make something... oh well

Re: Warhammer: Age of Reckoning
Check your Mythic account and see if you got into the preview weekend (which is this weekend). I prordered and was somehow invited to it. So maybe it goes out to everyone with an open beta account?
