Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
That is why I hate WOW you never lose anything, where is the risk? At least in EVE when you die you lose millions if not billions sometimes.
Oh and your ships will have so many lives the rare ships might only have two but the beginner ships will have more. You can also teleport now to a port if you have a ship their so it isn't like you will be stuck with a beginner craft.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
The uber ships are not really that uber. They will be better than the rest but not a huge loss. And they are not some special super rare thing. Expensive, yes but anybody with the skill and rank and cash can get one. And a one of these Ships of the Line is not what most people will want to be using on a regular basis.
And you just loose the ship. The stuff you have gained in quests and whatnot are not lost. The cargo is lost but it is lost to everybody if the ship is sunk. Often a you surrender and give up a percentage of the cargo/gold so no duribility will be lost.
As it stands now if a Pirate captures one of these ships it will have one durability point AND the pirate will become PVP everywhere.
It seems that the developers are really working hard to create a game that takes the best parts of eve and makes them better. Plus you can design your own flag and fly it for all to see!

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Im signed up but I haven't got an invite yet. From what I understand they are brining about 12-20 new people in a week and they will start bringing larger groups gradually. My hopes aren't to high, I dont really expect to get in the beta.
I am really excited about this game and Darkfall online.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Originally it was going in after release, but it's nice to see that they're dedicated enough to wait until June to start getting any revenue. It takes guts to hold back your game to add in something you could have left out, just to make it the best you can.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Heck yeah. I kicked someone's butt at the PVP station. I was British, he was a pirate, and I got all cannonbally on his arse. I won myself a shirt. It says "Support Piracy."

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Sure! Except I'm not in myself so they won't listen to me.
You have to be 18 to beta test, you see. Next year though, I'm totally getting you guys in. I turn 18 a month after the game comes out, but I guess that makes it easier, since all I have to do is buy you all a copy and then pay your subscription fees.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
So I guess the combat was pretty fun? It looks like a blast, plus being able to board the ship and dual with the other captain should be great.
