Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Made two characters to level 5, more happy with the Pirate class than anything else. We will have to see how the beta runs.

Pirates are where it's at!
Anyone know if there's a server wipe coming after the Stress Test before we get moved into the general beta testing?

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Any other TG Pirates want to band together and tear it up, I'd be all about that. I have a pirate named P'imp Hand on the Blackbeard server.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Beta's over... Now I see Pre-Orders on several sites including the Dowload sites.
But for $49.99 Plus then paying a monthly fee...Kida steep (I know its pretty standard by now...but a mani reason why I never got into the MMORPG's).
How about $29.99 for the game (even the download version..) and the first month free... then nail us for the $12.99 a month after that... Sucker us in then hook us with great game play. Isn't it pretty standard that these MMORPG's stink the first few months due to server issues, game play bugs etc... ? So I guess wait a few months till the game drops in $$??/|TG|ARMA Pathfinder

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
I gave up. Lots of technical issues when I quit playing a few weeks ago. Tech issues that made it pretty much impossible for me to play were invisible people during sword fights. Flashing ocean textures during ship combat. I know its a beta so hopefully they'll resolve those issues.
However, even if those issues were resolved, something about the game just doesn't feel right. Maybe it's the instantly entering a quest instance instead of having to travel somewhere. Now I'm not the type of person that likes traveling an hour to get to a quest instance, but jumping right into one from the pier doesn't feel right either.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
I gave up for the same reasons as above.
The problem, I think, is that it was always meant to be a sailing/economy game and that part was developed for a few years. Then they tacked on the avatars this summer and it shows.
The at sea ship combat is fun and polished but most of the other stuff seems like it was only under development for a few months, because it was.I’m not racists, I have republican friends. Radio show host.

Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea
A Very simple, but fun , MMORPG for Pirates is Pirates of the Carribean online... Not even close to the DETAIL of Burning.. but the Ship combat reminds me like an ocean FPS.. up to 8 Folks on a single ship..manning cannons etc.. Pretty cool.. No real economy...except gold.. The cities are kinda dead..and not even close to Burning as to a fake live NPCs.. but the chip combat is pretty cool...
Really..how complicated would it have been to have an economy like the old text based Mainframe games of the late 80's. Space Traders etc..go sell something that you can buy cheap on planet A and sell it on Planet B..where it's pricey. (im speaking of PoTC..not Burning..where stuff costs a bit differently where ever you are..)|TG|ARMA Pathfinder
