Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Mmm, no. I know I had a smaller issue in this one because I snuck past the skeletons rather than killed them the first time through. I know some people had an issue in that you have to kill the first skeleton first to trigger the quest for the other three, but they should always be there, regardless.
If they really didn't spawn and you've looked and looked and looked, leave for a minumum of I believe 3 game days, and the zones will (or atleast should) completely reset and everything respawns.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I've done that twice now, as evidenced by the fact that the chests have been relocked and restocked. And I still can't find a single skeleton dude

A search on Google has revealed nothing at all about this bug. Could it possibly be related to any plug-ins I have installed?

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
it's a possiblity. What you might want to try to do is use the console commands to roll back you position in the main quest and redo the last segment. You can find a list here.
I don't use the console much, since it's immersion breaking, but it's useful for when bugs hit, or you're testing a new object you've made in the editor (still working on that ghost toggle ring).

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I used "sqt" to find out that my active quest was MQ09, and that it's stage was 40 (10 was accepted, 20 was finding the entrance, 30 was entering it, and 40 finding the curse). "setstage MQ09 10", 20, or 30 had no effect. 10.00 made it spit out an error message.
I made a thread in the Oblivion forums after searching them for a fix.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I'll start here and post something in the software forum if I don't get a response. I started playing Oblivion again after a 7 month break. I love the game. Problem is my computer either locks up or I get a blue screen that says at the very bottom that there was an error and my memory is getting dumped. I have to manually restart my computer, but when it reboots I get a message that says my keyboard cannot be recognized. The only way I could get it to boot up properly is to reset my motherboard by pressing the CMOS (?) button. Anybody experience this problem? It’s been out for a while so I’m hoping someone knows a fix. My specs are:
AMD Athlon 3800
2 Nvidia 7800 GTX cards
MSI Neo4 Platinum mo. board
X-FI Extreme Music Sound Card
2 gigs of Kingston RAM (PC3200)
Any advice or links to advice will be helpful..

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I'd try posting on the Oblivion boards. They were able to help me fix my issue.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Which Oblivion post do you recommend I go to for my blue screen of death problem. I've checked some sites, but the answers aren't there, too vague, or don't have the results of whether they are fixed or not.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
NorCal what have you tried so far?
My first instinct is to try 1 vid card, then switch them if the problem persists then same with ram. It's a pain in the ass but it beats looking through dozens of forum posts and trying to tweak windows.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I haven't tried anything yet, but I found out that there's a bunch of people out there with the same problem. I'm not computer savvy and got nervous when I read suggestions to delete audio codecs, change the game file names, and/or messing with windows security settings. I'll try swapping out my cards and see if that's an issue. I saw a few posts with people indicating that they solved their issue by testing their RAM or they dropped their core clock speed for the video card. I have the same symtoms as everyone else- all other games run good, but after Oblivion is running for a while *crash to desktop or Blue Screen o' Death. I may break down and get a xbox 360 copy.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Try the usual suspects... video card drivers, sound card drivers, motherboard drivers.
By the way, to update everyone on my stuck horse: I finally got him out with console commands. I can't recall the exact command, but I went somewhere outside and did something that summoned him to me. The in-game options and turning off clipping so we could fly didn't seem to work.
As soon as I got him out, I promptly built a new computer and forgot to save the game during a clean install. Oh well, back to the sewers...

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Thanks Boot...I've got the latest drivers installed and the game still crashed. I ended up buying an Xbox 360 version (against my better judgement) and believe it or not it froze up several times lol. No luck until I installed the game on my laptop. It crashed to desktop a few times, but its not as bad as desktop (I had to open my case everytime to reset the CMOS button on my mo board- I think that's what the button is called. Anyway, I guess I'm going to have to live with the crashes for now. It's an awesome game that I never gave a chance when I first bought it a several months ago. It was competing with POE2 and COH time.
One thing that would be cool if any of you are still playing is to record a video of your combat. I haven't see any so far. I could use some tips..

Soul gems trap souls. Once you have filled one up it can recharge magical weapons.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I started playing Oblivion again couple weeks ago, I stopped playing it like 7months back to. Was a lv30 when I left off, now I'm at lv35, or 36. I downloaded all the downloadable content on live, and even downloaded Knights of the Nine. Damn good quest knights of the nine was to. Although I beat it in about 4 1/2, to 5hrs. Played it straight through though. Now I'm waiting for Shivering Isles to come out. Until then, taking another break.
