New oblivion preview at gamespy
"You'll be able to use both hands in Oblivion, whether you decide to wield a sword and a shield, dual weapons, or a double-handed axe."
"Even better, the guard miraculously didn't forget about our trangressions, actually following us into the building, slashing at us until we killed him."
Edit: Gamespy is wrong, you cannot dual wield two weapons

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature, who has no chance at being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. -- John Stuart Mill--

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I am definitely looking forward to the release of Oblivion. I played a big chunk of Morrowwind with three different characters on both xbox and PC, there was just so much to see and then there were the mods (i built myself a great wizards tower), and i even remember Daggerfall from a long time ago.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Cool. I hadn't seen the requirements before (I get some weird errors whenever I load TES homepage in firefox). Luckily I meet the requirements. The recomended specs are almost exactly my system. I've got an AMD64 3000+, 1gb RAM, and a BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC. I realy want this game to come out soon.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Well, with system requirements out, I don't think they'll be tweeking anymore. I think that accounts for the late release. So hopefully it'll be out soon
Although, I'm glad they took their time! I'd rather have a polished off game, late, then a buggy, unplayable game early.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I've been a longtime RPG player, but Oblivion is just something I can't be excited about. Not even remotely.
Everything so far that's been presented re: writing/dialogue/NPCs has been completely atrocious. It's not wonder they keep that pretty low-key, while hyping things like the radiant AI, action combat, soil erosion and Patrick Steward. The nail on the coffin is one of the leads pretty much pointing that Oblivion *is* at its heart primarily a dungeon romp. That's fine, and it'll probably get great reviews, but not my kind of game.
