There is a new ATI patch for those with X1k cards. It gives extra crossfire preformance and adds HDR+AA to Oblivion.

LOL, I had the same feeling, and it does not go away. I have not been able to play anything else since.

Has anyone been able to find where they dropped their real life in this game?

I think I left mine in the Imperial prison cell...it was taking up too much of my inventory...I miss it now though...

I sold mine to Ungar the Fence. Got very little for it, too.

This game is sucking my time at a rate of 4-6 hours a night. And I say night, because 6 hours of play starting at 9pm means I'm pretty tired during the day. That particular level of obession is starting to slow down, but I have a sneaky theif guy at lavel 14 and have yet to take the amulet to Jauffre.

    Some random items:

Cool: I managed to piss off the pirates by swimming under their ship. When I came up, the pirates were all fighting the guards. It was so wild... I just grabbed my bow and started plinking away. Got some great loot that way!

Cool: As a weak basher type, I found a great way to clear caves was engage 1 or 2 enemies and run out of the cave toward a settlement. The NPCs there will fight with you. At one village, a minotaur and 2 will o wisps managed to kill a couple high level NPCs, and the dead don't need their mithril armor...

Cool: Hunting mods are great, with the ranged zoom I'm able to make a nice shot at a grazing deer from max distance and hit first time. It's so wild to see 6-8 deer in a herd and just pick them off one by one. The boars are too hard to take down (like 12 arrows each).

PITA: Making potions is becoming a pain in the butt. Anyone find a mod to make this easier?

PITA: Something screwed up my black horse and now he runs so fast I can't control him and we fly off cliffs and such. It's not like a galloping kind of so fast, it's like he's on ultra intensive crack. I might have to kill him (wonder if horse meat is worth anything?)

PITA: CTD sometimes, and forget about application switching to ramp up another playlist, etc.

As far as entertainment value goes, this game is well worth the money.

    Oh well, back at it....

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I just picked up the game, thought I'd chime in. So far my favorite part is the fast travel feature so you don't have to hoof it everywhere. The map overall is quite useful.

My biggest gripe is accidentally stealing things. I wish you could pick something up just to check it out, and if someone gets pissed you can just put it back. Instead, I put the thing back and I'm still getting chased. Might as well just keep it, except it was a freaking loaf of bread.

Back in those days a loaf of bread was probably their food for a week. I imagine they'd get a little pissed if you took it. Putting it back doesn't help because you've now had your grubby hands on their food. I'm going to have to try that tactic of pulling the bad guys back into a village and see if I can get some good NPC armor.

This game is starting to seriously cut into my BF2 time.

Letting others fight for you can be very helpful when you have a physically weak character. When I first started out, if I had a monster trying to kill me near a town I would just run inside and let the gaurds kill it. Now, I'm an expert in conjuration, and my illusion skill is really high, so I can just summon a Deadroth to kill everything for me while I turn invisible and watch the fun (or sneak up on them and steal their souls with my super enchanted sword while they're not looking)

Seriously im hooked on this game. So much to do and see, that i spend most my times in towns checking out the stores and talking to people. I have 10 quests right now going, not counting the main on. Alot of fun, the graphics are kind of cheesy at times but still well done.
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Is the "super enchanted" sword custom or is it something that was dropped?

I second this. More than once I've accidentally taken something when I was actually trying to talk the NPC. It's the same button, and when the NPCs move ... you get the idea. It's not a huge deal to just go back to the autoload from when I walked in the shop, but it's annoying.

I also wish someone would create a bury body mod. These pirates are starting to stink up the waterfront.
