Wow, I'm surprised there isn't a more up to date thread for this game in here.
If you are interested in this game, I encourage you to go checkout gamespot dot com and look up Final Fantasy 12. They've gotten their hands on a Japanese retail release and are going through a step by step description of what's changed, mostly because this game has almost become infamous for the number of changes to the series that its boasting.
They have a boat load of small gameplay videos available to for those itching to see some live action.
I will warn you about one thing; there's a spoiler to the intro cg movie that you may want to avoid reading (just skip the paragraph where they start talking about it).
Worth a look though.
