Have you had any stability problems? I've got Oscuros mod and Nat. Environments. I sometimes get a "Send windows error" menu immediately when I close out the game. I used to get hard crashes and BSOD all the time and thought it might have been the instability with the mods.

Re: New Oblivion Expansion News
I had some issues until I tweaked the load order properly.
The OOO main file should load directly after the oblivion.esm. Then load up the game mechanic changing plugins followed by more cosmetic plugins.

Re: New Oblivion Expansion News
The dungeons are randomly generated, though. After some amount of time, all the dungeons are reset and filled with a new, random batch of level appropriate creatures, and the chests are filled with a new, random batch of treasure.
And seriously. What was the point of leveling in the game if the game levels with you? All that it basically does is slowly make some of your skills comparatively weaker and others comparatively stronger, and it makes allies more useless as the game progresses.
I've thought of installing the level killer, but my distrust with that is that the game was constructed around their current system, and I'm wary as to how you can just throw a stick in the gears and not massively unbalance it.

I just had a really nerdy conversation about this over lunch with a co-worker. He broke down the leveling mechanics and recommended that I install the AF leveling mod. He's running the same mods I am apparently, and insists that its the only way to play the game. Oscuros sets leveling caps for creatures and other npc's, but the AF leveling mod completely does away with the major and minor skill leveling process (or so I'm told). I'm hesitant to add it only because I'd have to start another character again.
Vulcan- I'm going to PM you about the setting the load priority.

Re: New Oblivion Expansion News
Karkianman,
The mod plays wonderfully and is truly a breath of fresh air. There are many testimants to that in the various forums about the mod. Taking OOO for example, not only has he adjusted NPC levels to be scaled easy to hard depending on where you go but he has also added in custom AI behaviors to go with it. You'll not only find weak npc's in a dungeon but sometimes find that a particular faction has assaulted the dungeon and taken it over. They don't just kill everything but instead take into league with other faction if they are both classified as evil. In the case of opposite factions they usually end up in blood bath but one will end up taking the fort/cave/ruin. It's really very interesting and adds a ton to the gameplay. This is not always the case either, that factions are fighting in every POI. This is scarce for the most part but is possible to find.
It works and is your only salvation to making oblivion play much better.

Re: New Oblivion Expansion News
Hey Undead,
Please be sure to let all of us know what you think of SI, including first impressions. Buying this expansion was a no brainer for me many months ago when I was into Oblivion, but so much time has passed since I last played I am not sure I will pick it up. Let us know if it is worth it.
Thanks

Re: New Oblivion Expansion News
Well, so far. I haven't played but about 30mins, I already owned the gatekeeper, and entered Mania first. My 360 decided to freeze up on me, so I called it a break, and didn't play anymore yesterday.
I really like the new look of the world, its really crazy looking. Extremely colorful. The sky with the reddish clouds, and the stars. Look awesome, and the reddish clouds reflect off the water.

Re: New Oblivion Expansion News
In addition to SI expansion, Bethesta issued a new patch recently that remedies some of the annoying crashes that all of us experienced at one point or another in addition to other issues. Apparently, if you loaded SI you won't need to download the patch since SI disk includes it.
