Downloaded the beast last night, went to start it this morning before work just to make sure it runs, and no go. I get this message (paraphrased):

"Application failed to start, d3dx9_31.dll could not be found. Re-installing may fix this."

Ideas? Looks like it's related to Direct X or Direct 3d, and I know I have Direct X 9.0c (not sure if 9.31 is a more recent version). I'll poke around on their support forums, but I hope they're better organized than the rest of the website.

Found this in their knowledge base:

"D3dx9_31.dll was not found
This error implies that the latest version of Direct X has not been installed on your machine. There have been a number of recent releases for direct x 9.0c, so that might confuse the issue some. Make sure that you've installed Direct X 9.0c from the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx"

Guess I'll try updating DX, though it's vaguely annoying that I'd have to do that.

Ok guys we seem to now have a few players. I also have 2 more here in the UK which are players on Hilsbury and are going to register with TG. Therefore i say its about time we set about sorting a guild.

I am up for this. I think I have finally decided on a guy. Druid, but he is the middle group? The east asian folks..... Cant remember name. The hard part is meeting up. The land is HUGE and it is hard to find anyone else.

Well, I gave it a shot guys. I really want to like the game, but it just doesn't feel finished enough for me. Maybe I'll give it another go in another 6-8 months when they fix some of the major issues and top off the world a bit. Good luck until then. :P

I have fallen for it in a big way and have cancelled my EQ2 account. It just looks so sweet. I am getting no trouble with lag atm. There are indeed some bugs but not enough to put me off.

Yea, some bugs, very much like beta. But worth it IMO.

Not sure, but when I get home, I will get you the info, and a "buddy key" so you can play it a bit free.

I've been looking at this game, but I'm unsure that my current rig will give me a decent experience, what do you think?

AMD 1.8GHz
2 Gig of RAM
GeForce 7600

It's a dated system at this point. I'm able to play BF2 and EVE without problems, but I fear the new games coming out will trash it.

You should be ok, I recently discovered you could adjust the INI file to run at 800X600. This will help you alot. Might have to go on lower setting though.

I just got the game setup and running last night. Enough time to play around alittle with a couple different characters.
Does TG have a guild set up, or are people just casually getting together online.

I've got two on Hilsbury atm, Banyann, and Bosen.

truthfully i haven't been able to run the game without a CTD.
