Actually, I think my post was quite relevant to the topic, and I mean directly, not just because the topic was vague or about everything or anything like that.

You can't prove ANYTHING except in Mathematics. Scientists continually demonstrate this.
Since you didn't actually disagree with anything I said, I'm not entirely sure what your point is here. Unless you meant to imply that the lack of 100% positive proof does not prevent us from having 99.99% proof, which is what we normally accept as "good enough" for most purposes? But in this case, we don't have anything close to 99.99% proof of the existence or non-existence of an afterlife -- the purely scientific evidence would seem to leave that pretty close to a 50/50 shot. Hence my assertion that this question must be answered primarily by faith.

Off topic? The original post was basically a black hole that brought us together as our poorly organized ideas coalesced into a nice coffee swirl. noob

Re: The reality.

I'm not sure what's scarier: the OP or the serious discussion of its implications.

Just as a public service announcement to those with wacky theories on the government or poison vaccines causing Autism or criminal brown people eroding the constitution or metaphysics: use a spell check. Nothing gets in the way of someone considering the validity of your point more than poor spelling and grammar.

Organizing thoughts in a coherent manner is also a plus. Rambling, misspelled stream-of-conscious screeds do precious little in communicating your point.

Just sayin'.

truly my point of saying that peoplewere of topic, was to keep (as you said) the swirl in one piece. I had noticed that people had gotten off the original topic I was heading to, but I was unable to repond because of issues time from school.

This is my forseable outcome of this post: the seeds of a name calling war have now been brought to light- Switch don't start a name calling war- that we will ultimately cause this to crumble and bring some of us infraction notifications and the closing or deletion of this thread.

Please all who post here be honorable and mature so as not to create a scene.

Re: The reality.

What, just in general? Scientific Evidence most certainly does exist in general. And if you're only referring to the particular question that I was already saying can't be proven, then why are you bothering at all?

Re: The reality.

Evidence means that it's solid fact, which doesn't really exist in science, or that's what I gather from all the articles and classes. Pretty much everything gets replaced by a newer (and hopefully better) concept. Better tools allow for better observations which invalidate the older ones. All anyone's really doing is making a better guess.

Ya know. I think i've seen that too. IIRC, the proof showed that 1+1 equals something OTHER than 2, but could not precisely show what the actual value was.

I believe those are fallacies or are the results of false proofs if I remember correctly. I'll poke around when I get a chance.

Re: The reality.

Most people believe that there may be life on other planets, but have a hard time believing that the life form may be vastly more powerful then they are. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Thats not what evidence means at all. Evidence is simply an observation which can help lead to better understanding of an issue. You can have a lot of evidence on one question and have a very good understanding of it, or you can have just a little bit of evidence and have a fairly poor understanding of it -- but either way, you call it evidence. You can also have a lot of evidence on a question and then screw up the analysis of that evidence, and still reach the wrong conclusion -- but that doesn't mean you didn't have any evidence.
