don't get me wrong... I'm not saying he WASN'T wrong, I don't know the incident or the full video... but from what i see in that video, all justified... don't forget why he's there... he has orders to enforce laws including local ordances...and i would just imagine that they have areas there aloud to protest and areas there not... if told to leave and they don't he used a proper horizontal stick push, of course looks like he pushed her in a wrong spot or too hard... oh well, should of backed away when lawfully ordered...

then they have instructions to take out instigators and leaders... he comes in and takes a leader away...

from the video, nothing wrong... don't like it then tell your law makers to make it unlawful for any officer to interfere with a protest... I'm sure those officers would rather be home with their wifes and kids.

I don't expect you guys to see what I see, understand, or even change your own minds... you've already proven in this thread many times you can't look at a incident with a open mind... but just saying what you won't admit.

BTW... she doesn't have to touch the cop...but she does have to obey a lawful order... remember...by law... I cop can use one level of force higher then the suspects.

You'll have to excuse me for pointing out that the officer was able to arrest her without incident when she was speaking to reporters. Why did he have to strike her earlier? Couldn't he have just arrested her in that same fashion? He could have avoided the whole violent incident by arresting her out right, with no use of force other than apprehension and applying restraints.

The fact that she was arrested while speaking to the press and being a 'leader' is suspect. The arrest should have happened once the officer decided that she had crossed the line that warranted attacking her.

As far as open mindedness, I will bend over backwards to accommodate the logic that leads to any conclusion so that I can understand another’s point of view, but if the logic is faulty I will disregard the conclusion after I take the time to understand it. I think many of us have been fair in our view of police and are consistent in pointing out that our malice is directed towards the ass hats and not every boy in blue.

I think pushing him into the street like that was wrong.

If the sidewalk is private property then certainly I can understand telling them to move along. Also, that "you're lucky I didn't knock the f*ck out of you" seems pretty over the top for a reporter on the sidewalk.

Also, someone should tell that officer that his cigar looks retarded. I'll leave it up to others to decide why the throat grab would be the first thing to go for, but I certainly was surprised the reporter didn't get burned by that monster cigar while he was getting cuffed.

I know that at least in Michigan, the sidewalk is considered public property as well as the easement.

Or at least the county is responsible for it. The edge of the front lawn, to the street, isn't the owner's responsibility past taking care of it (mowing the lawn, etc) If a tree is dying, it's the county's responsibility to remove it.

Basiclly I'd say, only times people get caught jay walking is when A)The officer is a prick B) Officer just needs to make his quota(by quota I mean he's been lazy or hasnt gotten many arrests/tickets given out) C) Citizen jay walking actually jay walked in a place where it shouldnt be done (IE: 4 lane highway with divider)

It really is one of those laws that is mostly out there just so law enforcement can do as they'd like. It's kind of like the other video where an officer stops a group of men for just having their boxers showing...
