Re: Ebay.
I used ebay exactly once and I had great success. I bought my campter from a guy in NJ about 3 years ago. I spoke to him by phone a few times while bidding and I came to trust him enough to fork over $600 bucks sight unseen.
This was 2 years ago. I got a great deal and couldn't be happier with it. I've used it about 35 nights since then and plan to use it for years more to come. It's a 1971 Bethany Citation 88. It was made by seminarians in Minnesota and they made it to last, let me tell you. It's needed some TLC and a minor repair here and there but for the most part its looks as good as the day they made it, even the canvas...its amazing. They seminary still exists but now they print religious books instead of making campers. Guess I lucked out on this one. here's a pic for your enjoyment

Re: Ebay.
I sold my 1941 Plymouth on it in under a week. I was amazed by how many responses I actually had to it.
![]() Boy do I miss it, but had a new baby on the way and no time to spend on her. She ran great and always turned heads. Back on topic: I'm still leery of spending a large amount of money on anything. I think I've made maybe 5 or 6 purchases all together and possibly the same amount of sales.

Re: Ebay.
I'm almost 70+ transactions, I've given 2 neutral feedbacks. I buy from large, established sellers with feedback above 98%, Paypal only.
I buy art, clothes, books, electronics, games (incl. BF2) and jewelry, along with checking there first when I'm looking for something specific. I sell occasionally as well. If the pictures are fuzzy or lo-res, I don't buy. If the english grammar is bad in the description, I don't buy. If the account is fairly new, I don't buy. I'm really picky, and if it seems like the last or only one, I don't succumb to impulse buying. It will be back, someday. Great deals to be had, but only if you go often, and know how to look. A good seller will want to avoid neg FB at all costs and bend over backwards to keep you satisfied. I once had a 21" monitor that I didn't like the color tones on; instead of having me send it back, the lady refunded me and told me to keep it. I gave it to charity.

Re: Ebay.
I use eBay as much as possible. I've bought and sold many things. Everything from a few dollars transaction, to a few thousand dollars transaction. Read feedback, ask questions. Many times you can tell by the response to a question or lack of a response how legit a seller is. Also, read negatives carefully. Some sellers, especially those in collectibles, fall victim to jerk buyers who have some bizarre idea what needs to be done during the transaction, I've seen several collectible sellers with negative feedback like this "...item luckily survived shipping. Items should have been wrapped in cloth, then in bubble wrap individually instead of news paper and packing peanuts." If someone leaves feedback like that, ebay should send a squad of hoodlums to vandalize their home or at the very least a bearded midget with a ladder to slap them in the face.

Re: Ebay.
There have been similar things like that before. Never wire or put money in an escrow account. Only use a CC so you can easily dispute charges, etc especially with large purchases. If someone won't accept a CC via one of the major outlets like PayPal or Western Union, you have to wonder why.

Re: Ebay.
I've bought plenty of stuff, and only had a problem once- an Airsoft gun was described as the full-metal version, but was plastic instead... no biggie, though.

Re: Ebay.
I've done about 50 things. Mostly selling. But I do buy. The deals you can find are awesome. Right now Ive got 4 items up so I can purchase a 360 and or save up the money for my trip to Hong Kong.
Ive run into scammers and sleezeballs to many times. But still enjoy eBay overall The sellers fees are crazy though.
