I went back up there today with my (new) leasing agent. We found old excrement covered feeding bowls, chicken-wire, feathers, and planks scattered throughout the remainder of the attic under boxes and other "debris"...crazy!
That's insane. I don't know how he got around a "pre-buy" inspection without THAT being noticed. Hell, my inspector even looked at my house-hold wiring diagram to info me about where my GFCIs were. I seriously doubt the renter had no idea about the problem unless pre-purchase inspections aren't required by lenders in your state.

Nevermind, you're in Iceland. I can't comment on home inspections in another country.

Maybe it's Willie Nelson.

Creepy. Time to breed a new army of pigeons to bomb your enemies.

Well, after a while those sounds seem to stop anyway. But it sure does smell for a while after that...

Re: A Surprise in the Attic

Before moving in to anywhere, check it out from top to bottom. look EVERYWHERE.

as for the mess, get a good hazard mask, rubber gloves and a raido. Get in there and get cleaning. Try to keep things sort of moist while scraping etc so it does not get airborn. If you wait for your landlord, you could be waiting a long time. that was my experience renting.
