While we're at it, lets throw out that book that Constantine commissioned some 1600 years ago, as well. I mean at least the constitution was conceived for the good of mankind. I don't expect anyone to do that... so, I think we keep the constitution, as more than an artifact. The nation is 200 years young. families ruled empires longer than our country has existed. The Constitution still has legs. I think we need to return to it, as Ron Paul has suggested.

This is why polls are retarded. Look at the dramatic effects they've had before. They should be banned.

Removing the constraints of the Constitution is like letting your mad fighting pit bull watch the kids. And it doesn't matter if you put "nice people" in charge. You'll still get frothing nutters over time. An awful lot of people think GWB is "nice people". And another large group of people think the Clintons are.

Re: WTH just happened in NH primary?
No it wasn't. It's a contract between the states and the fed. It wasn't made for the people and it wasn't made to govern the people, it was made to define the terms of the deal. It's a contract and is neither good nor bad in and of itself. If you don't like the terms of the deal, well...sorry. Lobby!

Hmmm, have you ever read the Constitution?

Re: WTH just happened in NH primary?
I'd drop the "and the fed", since it didn't even exist at the time. The Fed is the machinery that implements the contract, and because it's very dangerous machinery, the contract is written to place strict limits on its power. In spite of that, the machinery has escaped the limits placed on it. The dog has slipped the leash.
Replacing the original vision of the Founders with "true democracy" is a step backward: The French tried that and look what happened. Mob rule is not pretty. In my view, rights are not additive: The combined rights of two people (or a million) do not trump the rights of one individual.

Re: WTH just happened in NH primary?
The Constitution isn't the problem. It's the disregarding of the Constitution that's the problem.
But perhaps you can point out specific problems with it. I'm all ears.
