the number gives me a machine, a butt ton of different directories. most of them being officers themselves...not exactly a first impression i want to make.

gonna have to do some googling....

Re: what do you do, what you make?

Ok, then heres what you do: Call another recruiting station and tell them that you've not been able to reach your recruiter for weeks and ask for the number of the chief recruiter or zone supervisor for the squadron (I believe you fall under the 313th Recruiting squadron). Actually, just ask to speak to someone higher up in the chain of command, they'll definitely understand that much. When you finally get hold of someone, file a grievance.

Re: what do you do, what you make?

Well, after a long hour spent on various phone lines, I found out why my local recruiter wasn't around: He just got married. Should be back soon. However, another recruiter close by was able to help me over the phone.

Problem solved. No grievance necessary.

BTW: Internet help thing on AF website: bad. They thought I was in the 309 area

So now it's just a waiting game. Gonna keep on looking at jobs... Bleh.

Liar. We never got drinks, but I sure do like the tatoo's we picked out last time.

I'm a geophysicist with a total cash compensation of a little over 120K w/ 2 years experience (leejo, you're still buying the next round). My company has good benifits: 401K matching, retirement, medical (dental & vision), 3 weeks vacation, stock options (not included in cash compensation), bonuses (included in cash compensation), yearly raises above 15%, travel (woohoo bonus miles), etc. I love the work and I like the compensation and I hear it only gets better after five years experience. This is all dependent, of course, on the health of the oil industry.

Three wifes and a kid put a serious dent in the amount of fun I get to have though

Edit: I mean three kids and a wife of course.

I may (or may not) work for the US government.

My friend, I will definitely pick up the next round. I just got an offer letter to do the same work I'm doing now, with less travel, an extra $100,000 a year, and equity in the firm via preferred stock.

Hell, I might even renew my supporting membership, 'cause, you know, **** it.

I need to go buy a year's supply of Kools. Peace!

Rince just wants Nick Nack to polish his Golden Gun.
Scaramanga and his superfluous papilla...

That's what's so awesome about midget manservants. Petite and discreet.

I hear ya! When we bought the house we made less than we do now and could only pull it off with a loan from my in-laws. We paid them off using a 2nd mortgage, so we're pretty much in debt up to our eyeballs. I try not to think about it...

Actually, most everyone I know who bought a house had some sort of parental support. The real estate prices have always been out of control here - it makes me wonder what my kids are going to do in 20 years. Maybe we can all move to Colorado.

Re: what do you do, what you make?

I made just under $20k last year in retail. Right now I am student teaching which means I had to pay fifty dollars and pick up the garbage. (I can't work, had to pay tuition, student teaching fee, a graduation fee and a professional skills test fee) In Arizona, the minimum starting salary for teachers is $32,000 but most districts start a bit higher. Hopefully I'll be making that much this time next year.
