When the city council has so obviously told the local LEO to stay out of it? They should all be in jail and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, which is luckily much more lenient than I would be.

When someone's response to "bleeding heart liberals" protesting the military is "they should be shot in an unnecessarily painful manner" I naturally assume they're a very right wing person who is outraged at them protesting the military. I presume you would be as offended if, say, they were protesting in an identical manner outside the democratic national headquarters?

If you don't like Berkeley's desire not to be protected by the US, there's a simple answer: Secession. Let them be their own country with their own pink military. And their own taxes to support their own leftist state-run college.

The need for a "united" states is long past. We've got the UN and other international bodies to provide military defense alliances. We could even leave a semblance of the old US for defense purposes only. (That's mostly what it was originally for, before someone decided it would be a good idea to use it to impose Berkeley-style social policies on other states.)

As to the video, the people can be asshats if they want. What I really find appalling is that the police did absolutely nothing to the people who were obviously breaking the law. Time for a lot of non-idiots to start making numerous citizen arrests.

This whole Berkeley thing has been beaten to death. Let the Doves and Hawks do their protests, assemblies and anything else that is protected under the "law of the land".

I may not agree with a wide amount of issues, but people fail to realize the more bitter and hostile we become regarding (x) issue, the more divided we become and the easier we are "controlled" as a society. Before you go drinking your daily glasses of Orwellian Kool-Aid, read from numerous sources and formulate your own reason and opinion. Looking at an obvious hate-mongering video alone and believing it without getting the facts from both sides of the fence is very dangerous.

This should also be moved in the Sandbox.
