Now...on to something completely different!

Doesn't UC Berkeley have an NROTC program on campus? Or was that Stanford?
Tin foil hats only amplify the waves within your cranium! Don't use em! Faraday cages apparently don't work much better either. Crystals might.

But we could use mind control if you amplify it enough.

Notice how I used the tinfoil hat as an amplification device in order to improve the reception of thought waves from the MIB to you for information.

Hush Meth. Reading comprehension isn't really your forte and neither is logical reasoning.

Re: Berkeley council tells Marines to leave

A couple of people have mentioned ignore lists. Is that a forum feature? Can you ignore someone? And, if so, how can it be of any benefit if other people you don't ignore keep replying to the ignored person?

My newsgroup reader software has a "killfile", and posts from those who've been ignored ("plonked") are no longer seen. But the utility is negated if someone insists on "feeding the trolls", because then I'm still seeing half of a stupid conversation.

If you open a users profile there is a link near the top that says "Add <username> to your ignore list". You'll never have to see a post from that user again....

Sounds good. Now we just need people to stop feeding the trolls, and in particular not quoting the trolls.

Sorry, I didn't think you would be upset with the fact that I quoted you.

If the national guard doesn't come quickly enough, it's probably because most of it is deployed overseas to protect our Mediterranean bases and the oil thats over there, while the steps to precede the invasion and destruction of iran are being completed..

Why shouldn't they complain when our military and national guard are illegally and unconstitutionally stationed overseas?

Lets not forget the Sumerian stargate.

As far as Berkeley it really is just another Bay area town. It’s a bit run down these days and not even close to the hippie mecha (This sounds like it would be an AWESOME cartoon! ) it was 30 years ago. The City council is made up of a bunch of old and angry hippies/yuppies.

NOTE: A Hippie/Yuppie is a Hippy that put their college (Berkeley) education to good use and can now afford to run for public office and keep bitching into their senior years about all those evils in the world that they themselves have profited from.
I have a whole library of Hippie types I see in the bay area.

Guess where I grew up? Going to your first protest/rally is a rite of passage there, or was, in the late 80s early 90s. By the time I moved away (happy to, after 12 years) in 92, the "peace" movement was already an almost militaristic movement in itself. To beat "them", whoever it was that month, they were becoming like "them". Wearing their own riot gear, gas masks, it was like a war waiting to happen. That brought in gang-bangers, neo-fascists, earth-first extreme-types and anarchist cookbookers all looking to f*** someone or something up, as well as assorted rabble. What a pressure-cooker.

BTW, there's a commonly-accepted term for a certain portion of those aging, uppermiddle class hippies and those like them, which abound in Berkeley, Walnut Creek, SF, Palo Alto and the Silicon Valley environs: BoBos (Bohemiam Bourgeoisie).

As a former resident, I predict it will blow over within 6 months; the Marines have far more gumption, stubbornness, loyalty and grit than any Berkeley City Council that I can imagine (thank God). The women of Pink will give them a run for their money though.

If Code Pink shows up with bullhorns, the Marines should wheel in one of their psyops trucks that blasts distorted music. The have more gumption, and more firepower, and more cool toys.
