Re: The Super Bowl Analysis thread
Great game. Best SB I've seen in a long time.
I've got even less respect for Belichick now. First he spies and now he runs off the field before the game is over. Dirtbag.

Re: The Super Bowl Analysis thread
Belichick didnt coach well at all in this game. His gameplan was flawed, stubborn, lacking creativity (in contrast to other pats games) and what kind of idiot goes for it on 4th and 13 from the 29 yd line (with a 53yd. kicker, indoors, on a perfect field, in the middle of the hashes)? That call right there typifies his attitude, overconfident and cocky... and it cost them the game most likely. Irony is a bytch sometimes aint it?
His attitude at the end of the game was hilariously unprofessional. I dont think in all my years I've ever seen a coach take a loss that hard. I applaud Belichick for his competitive nature, but that was a bit over-the-top crybabyish was it not? In my other analyses, the Pats' o-line looked just plain flat... even with a back helping with blocking. Something was up with that, and no it's not just the uber-ness of the giants d-line.. either it was unpreparedness, bad gameplan, lack of focus... something. The pressure from the Giants' d-line was too great the entire game, doesnt make sense. (most of the pats' o-line are pro-bowlers). Brady's ankle was bothering him. You could see him favoring it every so often, and when he should've scrambled he didnt. If there ever was a need for a mobile QB, this game was it - and he didnt bring that skill to the game. I'm hoping it was his ankle and not simply lack of focus and overconfidence in his offense. Overall, the Giants played a much better game and deserved to win and I'm happy they did (I despise the Pats). They should've given the MVP to the entire Giants D-line though (that would've been classy of the NFL), instead of giving it to Manning. Yeah, Manning had a pretty good game (he did his job) but not MVP dominance - their d-line on the other hand had one of the best superbowl performances I've ever seen; against the Pats no less.

While I'm extremely happy about the Pats loosing, I think this Super Bowl highlights the advantages of using a series to determine the championship. |

Re: The Super Bowl Analysis thread
A series? Are you suggesting that the NFL play a best of 3 in the super bowl or something? When would the season end? How large would the teams need to be to field enough players in game 3?
I understand where you're coming from but the wear and tear of football seems problematic. |
