This is very deliberate statement and I'm sure he made you say it to give you certain creedence in the courtroom on the outside chance he ever tried to sue you.

"Can you explain to the courtroom why my client is suffering from multiple cuts and bruses?"

"I was making a citizen's arrest and it was whitnesed by an officer of the law"

So do I. And that's why I do what I do here at TG. It can start here, by being a part of and supporting a community of people who behave decently and responsibly. We may all interact on virtual battlefields, our RL actions, in a social context, are no less real.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Axis of Eeevil again.

Nice job, normally i'd be annoyed with people doing citizens arrests seeing as im 17 years old but drunk driving is definitely a justified and perfect case where the person driving needs to get smacked around with the law system a little.

In a few weeks/months, you'll see our justice system at work, too. Despite the fact that you saw him try to kill people on the road and you smelled the fumes wafting from his piehole as he yelled at you to get off of him, the judge or jury will be unimpressed and he'll plea down to a $200 speeding or reckless driving ticket. Then he'll file a civil suit against you, because physically arresting him for a simple speeding offense is unreasonable Then you'll see what it feels like after the adrenaline wears off... If you still think it was worth it, then perhaps you should consider going to the next police recruiting fair.
And I know how right you are. Luckily I don't have to worry about the suit since Colorado has a good Samaritan law, but it's going to disgust me when they say I'm not needed to testify since the city atty allowed the dude to plea to an "Improper Equipment" violation. And I'd actually love to be a cop, but I made a mistake when I was younger and so that will never be.

You have a fleece vest, a set of balls, and a garage door opener that sometimes works at 100m from your house. Those don't produce exactly the same results in a dangerous situation.
As far as I was concerned, I was handling the situation passively. I was merely following him and relaying his location to the dispatch officer. Had I not been trapped by the car behind me when he stopped, I would have backed away from the dude after he got out. The only reason I chose to face him head on was that I felt threatened and trapped and I prefer offense to defense.

FYI: I'm pretty sure you were joking, but I would rather engage the dude in fisticuffs than stick my body halfway in a running car hoping to get the keys out and the car stopped before I got crushed or dropped on my head. That would be akin to "shooting the gun out of his hand."

What was the car that trapped you from behind? Initially I thought he'd called a buddy to help him out.

The car behind me was two girls that had also noticed how he was driving and were on the phone with the police.
