Re: Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes
I agree. My first one was a little Chipmunk .22 that was so cool. I remember being really excited because it was just the right size and seemed more like it was made for me. I guess things like that are important to you when you are a kid, lol.

Re: Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes
No rabbits in parts of America are ferocious! They will drill their way into your house, and kill your children if possible. They grow to be the size of large dogs, so yes, a gun is needed...
It all started when a man name "John Pasones", started importing one species of European Hare. He then injected them with "Phenergan", and then forced them to have sexual encounters with Chihuahuas. Once they had enough of dog genes in them, he progressively bred them up in size, until finally, he created one the size of a Great Dane. Obviously this is more than a "Simple Rabbit", and where I come from, requires a lot more than saying "SHOO". Just wanted to explain it to you ![]()

"The beast!"
"What, behind the rabbit?" "It is the rabbit!" Monty Python rules. Edit: At first, I thought this was a picture of a rabbit that had been shot! What sort of rodents/vermin do you get in America. I know of Skunks, rats, squirrels, maybe rabbits, but what else? Do they chew through wires, eat plants, what? I'm just interested to know...

Re: Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes
Groundhogs and opossum are a bit pain here in Virginia. Skunks and squirrels too and a crapload of birds that think they run the place, lol. Not to mention we have coyotes, bears, and a few mountain lions, but they are pretty solitary and very rare to see. Out in the North West we have wolves again now. And who knows how many species of poisonous snakes in various places. Here we mainly have copperheads and rattlesnakes. We still have quite a few animal related reasons to keep guns around in the US, unlike the UK where it's an island and a lot of the native species were hunted out a long time ago.

![]() Is it legal to own a M16 with M203 grenade launcher? Might be an AR-15, but I would bet money that thing has an 'auto' selection on the trigger. BTW, Hairless cats = freaky

Re: Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes
I do know of a few people who have them, but I cannot comment on their legality. I'm not real sure that the normal firearms laws even mention things like them but the people I know who own them are gun dealers who also have their federal license and own .50 cal machine guns. We also have "machine gun shoots" around the country where people bring out their various full-auto weapons and let the lead fly for fun. I do honestly think that more than a few of those pics probably contain Airsoft rifles. Can you tell the difference?

Re: Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes
Responsible gun ownership for private citizens is a good thing. The philosophical aspect of it is why its good to have guns when trained and used responsibly, as it keeps the government in check. Also it reaffirms that the power lies with the people, and not the government that has all the guns.
I'd imagine it would be a lot harder for a tyrannical government to rule over the people if the majority of its citizens are armed to the teeth. After all, its a citizens responsibility to secure his liberties with the threat of force as a last resort when they are unjustly taken away by government, assuming all other peaceful avenues fail.

Re: Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes
I would bet you that you couldn't tell the difference without picking them up. There is very little difference and mine even has all the Knight's Armament trademarks. The only real differences are weight with the plastic models (mine has a magnesium receiver and aluminum RIS) and a slight difference in scale in parts of the receiver. A lot of parts like the delta ring and most foregrip systems from actual rifles will mount on and work as originally intended as well as just about any picatinny rail accessory.
