Re: Obama or Clinton?

I consider China and North Korea to be terrorist nations, then. We need to treat them exactly as we do Iran and Syria.

I never said Obama was a terrorist, nor have I said anything about where he is from. Honestly, I don't even know where he is from. The ability of the people here at TG to see what they want to read is simply amazing to me, lol. As for Obama being an American, he certainly shows no and even spurns any outward signs of allegiance, so how is one to know if he considers himself to be an American or not?

As for McCain, he has military experience, he knows what the real deal is in Iraq and I am confident that he knows what it will take to finish it. Ans that is what needs to happen. No, it absolutely has to happen. The Iraq War needs to be seen through to it's conclusion. McCain knows that Obama's promises of pulling all the troops out of Iraq are empty because he knows, just as I and many other Americans know that it is impossible. The US suddenly pulling out of Iraq would leave the unstable Iraqi Government with nothing to back it up. It would make our pull out of Saigon look like a trip to the local fair. Iran, Syria, and Pakistan would all pounce on them and the various warring factions in Iraq would have a field day. The innocent Iraqis would be forced out with no where to go. It would be chaos. It wouldn't be like Afghanistan where the only natural resource is the illegal drug trade, everyone in the region would jump at the chance to possess the oil in Iraq and the ever increasing wealth it will provide in the coming years. Iraq needs time to heal and rebuild. We are the ones who have to give them that time. For good or ill, we invaded Iraq and destroyed the regime that ruled them with an iron fist. Now we must give the Iraqi people time to get back on their feet and take control of their nation like they never have before. Pulling out of Iraq might save American some American lives, but it would doom thousands of Iraqis to death or a fate worse than death.

You may be right and I have to agree with you. Unfortunately it seems that there are political reasons for us not condemning the Chinese for their actions. We have been pretty hard nosed with North Korea and President Bush labeled them part of the Axis of Evil during the State of the Union Address on January 29, 2002.

I don't see anywhere in that sentence that says Obama is a Terrorist, I think you need glasses.

Your right he isn't a terrorist he only supports them. Along with 16 million terrorist supporters that have voted for him.

Terrorism has risen 700% during Bushes tenure. DING! DING DING! it looks like we have a winner. A Vote for McCain is a Vote to Further Support Terrorism. *Just to be clear I'm not saying he's a terrorist.* With those kind of numbers there will be a terrorist sitting at every little league game in 10 years. Iraq is the catalyst for this explosion.

This idea that we must fight until there is a winner and if neither side is strong enough to crush the other side, then we should fight forever; is the most asinine thing I have ever heard.

Nuff already, lets turn this wagon train around.

Turn it around to what? What's the plan? Change? Change what? Change it how? Do you have any idea? No, and neither does Obama. Don't vote for a jackass. Especially one who thinks it's a good idea to make deals with terrorists.

Same thought, ovbiously hasnt been watching/reading any campaign coverage..

and Elw. what makes you so sure that Obama wont f**k up the country like Bush did, afterall everybody is agreeing that McCain is a little senior Bush, (impossible for him to be worse than Bush) The US is in quite a damn lot of debt right now and our economys not really at its best, McCain wants to stay in Iraq, War costs money, lives, the countrys morale.. I honestly cant imagine what the US would be like if we stayed in there for another 7+ years...

Re: Obama or Clinton?

At least with McCain we know what to expect and what he says is logical to me. I have no idea what Obama is doing and I don't think he does either. McCain has a lot more experience than Obama and I really think that is Obama's problem. He "thinks" all his change will work, but he just doesn't have the experience to tell him it won't or even how to go about doing it.

As far as Iraq, I think we need to push them a little more. We will still be in Iraq 30 years from now if the United States is still around. With any luck, McCain will push the Iraqi government to be a bit more proactive in their own interests. They have been making a lot more progress lately, but have a long way to go. I personally feel that the Iraqi people have been controlled for so long that they are unsure of how to handle their new freedom and the foreign fighters and insurgents just compound the problem. I think if it were handled right, and the Iraqi government takes s tight grip on their country that we could see the complete end of the fighting within 3 years, 5 at the most. I'm confident that McCain can do that and will. Obama's only plan is to tuck tail and run, let Iraq collapse in on itself and hand all the oil money to the worst possible people in the region.

War is usually very good for a country's economy.

Re: Obama or Clinton?

The fact that I, as a Brit, know more about the working and policies of your politics and politicians, is scary.

The sheer ignorance and assumptive comments exhibited here make me worried.
Are your people going to elect another bureaucratic, oil-swilling, war-mongerer? Or are your people going to elect someone with at least an ounce of passion for humanity?

Good luck, by the way.
