Re: Obama or Clinton?

"he's saying very little that wasn't said by Rev. King at various times back in the day."

Which says something about King.
...time to don the asbestos three-piece?

Of course the high-light reel is going to take many things out of context, but that doesn't mean that it isn't invalid. Just that you're consuming the concentrate.

Condolezza Rice would be an ace, but the problem is she's so damn sharp she knows she doesn't want to run for president. Which is why we should be able to appoint.

That's not how context works at all.

Rice doesn't strike me as having a great deal of common sense or very wide perspective on human nature.

The sad fact is, if you are black in America you face a completely different set of cultural and economic challenges than you would if you were white. And if there are any whites out there who have ever been angry at your government or your country for the things that it has done, you should be able to grant that same right of anger to a black person without declaring them racist or un-American for saying so. In many cases, it's the same anger with a different set of rhetoric, a different vocabulary.

Anyway, I hope I'll have the chance to vote for Obama. I prefer his domestic and foreign policy positions to all of the other candidates. I just wish he hadn't snubbed Edwards. That would have been a good combination on the ticket but apparently there's some friction there.
Agreed.

Reading back what I wrote on Reverend Wright, I think I came off a little more "anti-Reverend Wright" than I am. I too have seen the full versions of certain sermons, and I'd like to say that he does have some interesting points on political issues, and certain things have been taken out of context.

Just out of interest at how the American news was covering the story, when it broke, I went over to FOX...that really shouldn't pass for journalism should it?

Re: Obama or Clinton?

I doubt very many media agencies today could even understand the meaning of the term "journalism".

Re: Obama or Clinton?

My father's voting for Obama since he doesn't want another old geezer in the office.

My mother's voting for McCain since she's a die hard republican. She hates Obama since he is Muslim (Yeah she's racists) and hates Hillary since she hates democrats and Clinton. The ironic thing is she is married to a democrat.

I honestly don't care. The people will be out of office when i start college. As long as education is affordable i'm fine.

Oh man...tell me you're joking. You obviously don't watch her performances during congressional hearings...

Re: Obama or Clinton?

None. Obama tells lies like some idiot and always thinks he knows what he is talking about but he really doesn't. Clinton only worries about winning which they both do. They dont know what they do when the country is attack.

Re: Obama or Clinton?

Definitely neither of these candidates. I'll probably vote McCain but I don't like that choice either. It really would be nice to see some good candidates in a presidential election at some point.

The same could be said of Reagan himself.
