Pretty impressive that GS is still doing so well.

They practically invented the CDO, which may explain why they got out of the pool in time not to get hurt by them.
Terrific company.

I have a lot of respect for them. It just seems like they've been making all the right moves at the right time for so long that they should be "due" for a slip up somewhere.

Bought to Cover 100 CENX @ $74.29.
Boy did I make a boo-boo here. I had figure CENX was going to continue it's downward trend, and did a short sell @ $66. Apparently it decided to rally, and cost me $1k instead of making me $1k. Lesson learned? Maybe.

Re: TG Fantasy Stock Market League
Shorting is inherently more risky because in order to short a stock, you have to do it on margin. When you short a stock, your broker "borrows" those shares from another client who owns that stock, and debits your margin account by the sell price. So the entire time you're camping out on your short position, they're charging you interest. So your position's profit margin is constantly eroding.

All I gotta say is that Apple has been seriously rocking since we started this thing. I've seen an overall gain of 26.81% with them. Everything else has been iffy. Wish I had bought more of their stocks in the beginning. Oh well. Glad this isn't real money.

Sold all OFC for a total loss of $62.00 no big deal this stock just didn't pan out so I dropped it at the smallest deficit I could.

It's almost mid-May, which means that I am entering the time in which I must decide whether to pull the plug on my $100k short or not. My short is worth about $83k at the moment.

Bought 500 shares of colfax corporation @ $21.85. This is a lubrication supply company. If you look at all these types of companies you will see they have had a solid upswing and I think this will be a trend that continues.
